Link here  http://www.fool.sg/2014/09/02/why-have-stats-chippac-ltd-fallen-by-11-5/ As usual, MF whacks any stock they dislike and make them sounded like worthless piece of paper. Disagreeing with their way of making decision (without valuation), I posted a reply challenging MF to do valuation before they call.   Two authors from MF gave the following respond: Ser Jing Chong said that my assumptions are too aggressive, without stating his own assumption Stanley posted another article trying to play down the importance of valuation using some ridiculous example. Let see if I can wipe Motley Fool' s reputation once and for all.

x 0   x 0  Alert Admin	So long as opportunities to create votatility are not contained, there will probably be no end to the game.  The company itself shd be more forthcoming in engaging investors.  Afterall, we' ve already seen so many rounds of speculative price ups and downs.  And these are not small price movements.  Yet, why does the company always seem to wait to be queried before it reacts with  any public announcement?  And this is no ordinary company.  It is a govt-linked company, > 80% owned by the State.  So, when we  are bombarded with   such fervent preachings of transparency, etc, etc, from official channels .... well, you can take it with a full gulp of salt!!!! Party started talk on M& A ,drive price up,then not interested, drive price down...and the cycle repeats itself all over again.I wonder how long can they play this game before investor lost faith in them. x 0   x 0  Alert Admin	Do you know that you can lend out your shares via SGX? That being said, I think that the downgrade is done ' on purpose' . So that foreigners can short our local market without tio questioning by regulators. If you follow the flow of events, you will understand.    With reference to that last run to 0.77: Moody' s report came out, downgrading Stats C (3weeks ago) Foreign investors borrow shares from SGX (2 weeks ago) Share price went up first, then short down from a high. (1 week ago) Assuming you read news and buy accordingly, when you heard that it was downgraded, you will logically sell. (which they will buy from you and push it up along the way.) Then a strong sense of regret will emerge, regretting for selling too early, and all the fishes will start chasing it up. (this is when they will sell down)   But why do they have to borrow shares to sell? Because no ones loves to be stranded naked when the tide is gone as mentioned by WB. that aside, it is actually to protect their asses in case local authorities question them. Shorting from a high of 0.77 and buy back at 0.60 is better, compared to shorting at 0.58 to 0.53+ ( assuming, based on charts). They could have used, for example, 10m to buy up and 80m to sell down.
