If NOL really cannot secure any bank loan for their unsecured bank loan, minimum 3 to 1 right issue is required to raise SGD  823Million or US659million for the unsecured loan which will be exposed to public in next 18 months. The next coming 3 quarter results are very critical to NOL to show to the public that they can turn over in order to secure the bank loan  or raise the money through right issue from the market for their unsecured 664Million borrowing. To a company like NOL with 8.8Billion revenue, cash flow is very critical. Below 500million is sufficient to give a very serious warning to the market.

Highlight again on debt issue http://infopub.sgx.com/FileOpen/NOL%20Q1%202014%20Financial%20Results.ashx?App=Announcement& FileID=296951 is NOL cash flow healthy? Cash burnt from 980million to 605 million in last Q. The 300+ million cash are used to pay unsecured loan which is expired in 2014. 102million is required to pay within next 9 months. Cash flow shall reduced to 403Million Page 3. should be all investors major concern for next  18 months period. 861Million borrowing is required to repay in next  18months  and 664Million borrowing  is not secured. This unsecured amount is more than the 403Million cash flow. Cash call? So all investors shall hope for the best for this coming quarter to turn around and be profitable. Profitable can allow NOL to secure the outstanding borrowing. Otherwise, NOL has to pay borrowing with cash. Long term is quite dark to all NOL. All the best to all holders. Non-holder shall KIV after this coming quarter result release.

The biggest US airline by revenue, American Airlines, Thursday notched its highest quarterly profit in history following its acquisition of smaller rival US Airways. Earnings at American for the second quarter jumped 70 per cent to US$864 million. Also Thursday, United Airlines reported that second-quarter profit surged 68 percent to US$789 million. Both companies announced US$1 billion share repurchase plans and American, after emerging from bankruptcy just six months ago, said it would pay its first quarterly dividend since 1980: 10 cents per share.

After all ship share price movement is highly controlled by Temasek, if Ah Gong want it to go up then it will go up otherwise continue it sub 1 dollar range till they feel it is ok to lift it. In short No upper limit on how much ship can shoot up but there is a downside support for it due to temasek. For investors holding out, it is just a matter of when the upside would come and if they could stomach the highly uncertainty of container shipping. x 0   x 0  Alert Admin	Ever since it's daily MA cuts below the 100D MA in Jan 14, it had only briefly crossed above again in early May 14. Let's see if it is strong enough to cross and stay above the 100D MA at 0.98. That should be a significant indicator.

This is a positive factor in the technical charts to cut above both the 20D and 50D MA. Hopefully we can see a pleasant turnaround story for Q2.

PUBLISHED JULY 24, 2014 China July HSBC flash PMI at 18-month high of 52.0 [BEIJING] China's factory activity expanded at its fastest pace in 18 months in July as new orders surged, a preliminary HSBC survey showed on Thursday, the latest indication that the economy is picking up as government stimulus measures kick in. The HSBC/Markit Flash China Manufacturing Purchasing Managers' Index rose to 52.0 in July from June's final reading of 50.7, beating a forecast of 51.0 in a Reuters poll. It was the highest reading since January 2013, and above the 50-point level that separates growth in activity from contraction for the second consecutive month. "Economic activity continues to improve in July, suggesting that the cumulative impact of mini-stimulus measures introduced earlier is still filtering through," said Qu Hongbin, chief economist for China at HSBC. "We expect policy makers to maintain their accommodative stance over the next few months to consolidate the recovery." Mainland China stocks jumped after the PMI report while shares in the rest of Asia edged higher. The Australian dollar hit a three-week high on prospects of stronger exports to China. A breakdown of the survey showed most of 11 sub-indices that measure output, domestic and foreign demand improved substantially from June.
