Now 37.5!!! Nam Cheong tiam tiam cheong :) Nam Cheong today reported strong revenue and net profit for 1Q14, again beat our estimates, on robust momentum in offshore marine industry. The out-performance was driven by higher than expected shipbuilding margins to 20% in 1Q14, compared to 17% in 1Q13 and our forecast of 18%. Net profit surged 99% y-o-y to hit a high of RM71.3m. This was achieved on the back of robust revenue growth of 74% to RM407.3m. Gross profit margin up 2.6 percentage points to 21.2%. Order book remains healthy at RM1.4bn. 2013 was a record year for vessel sales with 24 vessels sold, 2014 has started off strongly with 7 vessel sales contracts secured YTD worth about US$110m. Balance sheet remains healthy, with net gearing of 0.35x providing headroom for growth. More updates to follow.

inevitable, offhand I don't hv the report with me. If I can retrieve it, will msg you. But looking at the counter last week was at around 35.5c, post 1c dividend, it should go down to 34.5c these 2 days but please study the price movement NOW

Analyst opinion based from which sources? Able to share? TP of 48ct / 50cts by 3Q of 2014 possible? am considering whether to vest long term to hit TP, or do a S/T trade-off and hop to other shares for trade / dividends. newbie here, just starting " trading" / " investing" in early 2014

TP = Target Price.
inevitable, from my prediction, 40c can be crossed easily once it can breach 38.5c. Recent analyst TP as high as 48c.

Bro RoundRound, can check with you what does TP abbrev for? Pineapple123, good choice to vest since .255, may I ask when was your vested date or period? based on history I see it was about close to a year ago, sometime in July 2013? Good returns btw. 45% increase :D Vested lately and hop it can break 40cts all time high, then maybe consider to vest longer or hop to other stocks.... =) |

pineapple123, it's the counter to hold for long term and where u can sleep well at all 'weather' conditions. I kept this share since its RTO 6 to 7 yrs ago. Even bought at its lowest price 13c during economic crisis when it was an UNKNOWN and sleepy stock right up to just about 30c. But today its marching up and up.

Today Nam Cheong goes ex-Div 1c and I hv confidence it wil go higher than it pre-Div price (at 37c on Monday) tomorrow when it release its result. This counter rarely disappoint, at least good run for a few more years | ||||

NCL price have a weird behavior. Over many occasions I've observed, there's usually a slight sell down before they announce good news and I hope today's situation will be the same. That's why it take ages to see this share price creep up

Puzzling that it is dropping. Funds repositioning. Yr guess is as good as mine. One thing to consider if they are doing badly would they consider paying div every 99 days. HMMMM...... weak hands are being scared off. |

I am always puzzled by one thing about NC. It buy/sell queue are also in the thousands. Unless there are tons of retail investors, if not is it fund queuing or what? Anyone knows? Last year, it releases its FY13 Q1 results on 13 May (before Market open) and went xD on 14 May. This year the xD is also 14 May so they may release their result on 13 May. A set of good results will reduce any xD effect. In fact look at what happen to its prices last year from a few days before and after 13 May. Will we see a repeat of the same pattern? Past history (pattern) is not a guarantee ofr future performance (pattern). DYDD.
