The thing about construction projects is that its no long as lucrative as before. Tender process - Most tenderer put up low bid for mega projects, hance it eats into the profit margin couple with rising raw materials. Myammar project seem to be one of the hope that many holders holding onto. If the bid failed one more time, many holder likely to cut ties. Hopefully more winning of MRT sub contracts to make up for the smaller profit margins from projects. Many thing hanging on aire thats why - not much buying. Holders holding o with hope mentioned...... Not sure the Myanmar Airport project winner when will be announced...... but even if its good news eventually, the overheads to execute the project might be a concern. So while there are good news to look forward to, there are also concerns - they both neutralsie one another. So its a bet. While Yongnam is a stable darling, due to the mentioned, buyers are holding back, holders are holding on......... Very little movement very little trade. |

Yongnam now got dividend yield of > 2.5%, got many potential infrastructure projects in the pipeline, got Myanmar airport tender potential....got future HSR potential, and currently at very cheap price (current price @ 23cts viz a viz last year Apr 2013 @ 31cts) what' s there not to like?

HSR is slated to be completed by 2020, but as far as news reveal, many things still at planning stage only. Station location in Johor still not fixed, immigration control deciding. And cost arrangement / financing? It' s nowhere near tendering yet. Still a long way to go imo... until the Singapore Malaysian leaders retreat again next year 2015, maybe we' ll have more concrete info.

All these talk about HSR is just going to benefit construction counters. But not those construction companies that are in involved solely in building residential buildings but rather those which are involved in soil analysis, foundation piling, steel strutting, crane rentals.... i.e. those that are heavily involved in transport infrastructure. Can check which companies are regularly awarded contracts for LTA roadworks and MRT tunnels and you will know

Yongnam, together with JGC Corporation and Changi Airport Planners and Engineers, is one of four consortiums invited by the Department of Civil Aviation, the Ministry of Transport, Myanmar, to resubmit its proposal for the design, construction, operation and maintenance of Hanthawaddy International Airport and its facilities on the basis of a public-private partnership agreement for a 30-year concession period. In addition, the Group continues to actively pursue $1.2 billion worth of new infrastructural and commercial projects in Singapore, Hong Kong, Macau and the Middle East of which 68%, if awarded, is expected to commence from mid-2014.This was reported in th FY result on 27 Feb 2014. Assuming that there is a 30% successful rate, we are staring at $360million project value. Of course, there is still be a possibility of zero successful rate. Nonetheless, anything is possible. Not forgetting that the CD of 0.6cents yet to be announced for distribution. (yeild of 2.55% at today closing at 0.235). This counter seems interesting to me... Happy Investing.. Cheers... |

Still holds true. Yongnam is a dark horse full of unrealised potential - and it will defintiely surprise on the upside when more contract wins are announced, and I am eagerly anticipating a gem of a Myanmar airport tender win

Can see that quite a bit of interest from investers buy most quee at 22.5. No further news to spur them to grab and hold for long...................... Maybe some contract wins may change the mindset. :) |
