Because most owners' are meant for business and not speculating in shares. Furthermore they can't do anything because shorting companies are very large funds running into billions and if they shake hands with one another they are gigantic and these shorters can cause undue strains to their finances if the directors try to challenge them. Furthermore, the shorters have all the facilities of a bank, a stock exchange, capable of keying or throwing(by force) down or lifting up a quote without obstacles at the trading platforms a hedge funds and for all we may not know strong political or authoritative backings. Otherwise how could they do their business, we may ask. All these suggestions are possible and might be true as logically it could not be wrong. One should understand we are dealing with money here. If I deal with money, and I don't like to be honest, I will do anything legally to make money from you. Lol.

Shorting seem like robbing money from the market legally. but how come the owner allow their share value to be shorted and remain calm Please advise for good clarification of why owner allow such a shortist practice. in the financial market. Thus is the financial market safe with these shortist at large.

Aiya,don't anyhow listen to people who come to the wrong conclusion of the market because they just " agak agak" this and " agak agak" that. Usually they say something to justify what is happening to a counter, for example : Genting makes big money, then the shortists (big shorting companies) die liao if they don't do anything. So they want to buy back in case subsequently further good news come in more " jiat lat" . But KNN their buy back price will lose big, if don't go down more. Then they will come out to make fear amongst the players. If Genting came out with bad results, they further push down and this way their bank account grows very fat. The rest you can analyse already. Big shorters can borrow from their own nominee companies or their clients (they won't know because the books figures represent their investments), and then short the market so much heavily that even an individual rich player or 10 or a 100 players or all of SJ's players would not be able to absorb. They will short lower and lower (but lesser and lesser) until they are able to buy back for millions of dollar profits. That is why shorting is bad for the market because share prices become unduly depressed and capitalization unduly reduced. The money in the economy gets into few people's hands (the shorting companies) and people can become poorer. |

fear not fear not .............I think as long as the share price can stays above $1.40 there is a chance for it to move back to $1.5+ zone during the yr end holidays period and may cross the $1.6+ zone around the CNY period ........just my own opinion............cheers............. | ||||
