I think this counter is not moving up as expected because the company itself has got not much value. The value is in all the other company it owns, very much like a shell. | ||||

If you are referring to Ipco NTA then you have missed out the placement announcement in Feb 2013. After the placement exercise, Ipco NTA is diluted to 0.04 cents. Ipco is trading near its NTA now. You need to read announcement, dont just listen to old news in forum. Ipco is holding some stocks in several company like innopac, blumont etc. When people speculate innopac, blumont shares, they pushes the share price higher. The value of Ipco become higher due to value of share they are holding appreciated. When people start to dump innopac, blumont etc, the price come down and valuation on Ipco will drop also. All these gain or losses are on paper (unrealised) until Ipco sell those shares. (take profit or losses) But SGX requires company to carryout periodic valuation on its company to inform their investor the fair value of the company from time to time. Hope this will help you.
