 Alert Admin 		Coal prices are kept down thru' "paper" coal in the future/option of the commodity market. Unless there is a squeeze, like silver squeeze, its prices will be kept depressed.

 Alert Admin 		Should not be too worry as the company knows the exact use of fund is for business expansion.
in fact, extra shares at high price is good, it helps to average up the NAV per share.

Step-by-step
  1. Existing shares: Geo Energy had about 1.74 billion shares outstanding.
  2. New shares issued: Two placements of 15 million each = 30 million shares.
  3. New total shares:  1.74B + 30M = 1.77B 
  4. Dilution factor:
    1.77B divide by 1.74B = ~ 1.017 
    That is a 1.7% increase in the share base.

Applying to EPS



Since EPS is profit ÷ shares, the new EPS is the old EPS divided by this dilution factor:
EPS (new) = 4.86 divide by 1.017= ~4.78 cents

 Alert Admin 		Think if drops below new placement price, many will snap up from the open market and wait for the upcoming financial report.

Geo has now taken care of the downside which is cash flow, what's there to not like the decision and wait patiently for them to execute the plan?

 Alert Admin 		This placement exercise will not affect the prices very much. This is understood since 2 days ago after announcing acquisition of coking coal, Geo needs some upfront cash as working capital. Hence this is not a negative news moreover the placement shares are priced at a discount of only 10 cents

 Alert Admin 		I noticed many of the active forumers here are already active since thw share price was sub 40 cents.

With new placement price at 52.5 cents, surely it is a vote of confidence in the future vs the past 2 years.

Many would be happy now. Conversely, why would placement price be above the current trading price and expect investors to subscribe the placement shares? May as well buy from open market?

The short term fluctuations just leave it ba, think most of the active forumers here had survived the worst times and seeing the better times ahead liao.

 Alert Admin 		Just a correction. The dark cloud cover is usually very bearish. Read that the latest placement price is 5.25,   it is likely the price will fall to match it. And if that price cannot hold,   it might want to go lower.

 Alert Admin 		With pricing of placement shares at 52.5c, I think it bode well for share price to go up beyond 60c, perhaps before the 1Q reporting. FCF will swing positive when MBJ starts operating in June/July period.

Better re-check whether Geo has cash flows problems. Too frequent placement exercises. Why not right issue so that shareholders holding will not be diluted?
