Iran war live updates: U.S. embassy in Riyadh hit by dronesThe U.S. war against Iran continues to intensify, with Saudi Arabia on Tuesday saying that the U.S. embassy in Riyadh was hit by two drones. President Donald Trump, in his first public event since the conflict began, said it is projected to last four to five weeks, but that it could go on &ldquo far longer than that.&rdquo Oil prices surged as investors assessed the risks of supply disruption. The price of gold, historically a safe haven for investors in times of crisis, climbed. U.S. futures, European stocks, and Asian equity markets fell across the board. According to a Reuters report citing Iranian media, the Revolutionary Guards commander said that the Strait of Hormuz was closed and that Iran will set any ship trying to pass on fire. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said that Trump &ldquo has all the latitude in the world&rdquo in determining how long the war will last. |
