Need more update on yzjfh new business to further return stock price to fair value. Guess had to wait till full year result in end feb or earky march. US completed it investigation on unfair practice on china marine sector, might be a turning point for yzjfh if trump ban US financial sector from servicing china shipping debt. |

if boss can show that they can grow the maritime business by being asset light. then the share will sure have a vary furious rerating upwards. as growth will not be limited to a percentage of asset invested but by how fast long term charter contract can be acquired. then get other people capital to provide the ship to do the contract. just make the management fee. ie consolidate capital direct to shipping business. make maybe 1% can already.

QUESTION 4: A shareholder sought clarification regarding the rationale behind re-entering the Maritime Business despite being spun off from YSL to operate as a fund management entity. Given the Group' s expertise in the maritime sector, the shareholder enquired about the potential yield return in the next 3 years and the reason that the Group did not re-enter the maritime business earlier. Mr Ren responded that following the spin-off from YSL, the Group initially focused on its investment and fund management business. The Group quickly realised that it lacked the same level of deep expertise and experience as compared with other established and leading global financial services firms like JPMorgan, Goldman Sachs Group, and Temasek. Notwithstanding the foregoing, the Group leveraged the Management' s extensive experience in the maritime industry to take advantage opportunities in the maritime business for shipbuilding, which resulted in the decision to establish the Maritime fund. Mr Ren expressed confidence in the Maritime fund' s ability to generate profits for Shareholders and contribute towards the Group' s share price over the next three years. Mr Ren further emphasised the importance of share buybacks as a means of enhancing Shareholders&rsquo returns. The Group will continue to repurchase its own shares at the opportune moments, after taking into account the prevailing market conditions and other relevant factors. Mr Ren further responded that the Group is striving to achieve strong performance, aiming for sustainable long-term returns with the current objective of distributing at least 40% of annual profits as dividends to Shareholders.  Excerpt above from the minutes of EGM meeting. We can derive the following:  1) It explained why the share price was shot down from 1st day of spin off till low of 28.5 cents, chiefly due to the fact that institutional investors simply don' t give it a chance to become a Temasek, a Goldman Sachs, or a JPMorgan. 2) Owing to 1) the group decided to refocus and have identified Maritime businesses as its strength, thus the venturing into the Maritime businesses - this explained why the share price somehow stabilised and in fact, shot up in late Sep 24 after the EGM and mandated. 3) Reiteration of time is needed for new businesses to growth, timeline given as 3 years and also reiterate on 40% dividend payout policy.  Long holders just be patience.  |

ordering new dwt 50k ships is a good move.    with increased war risk, ships are taking longer journey to avoid being hit by missiles. results more ship to cater to the longer time needed due to longer juorney. war resuls in transporting russia gas via pipe to europe cut.  europe has to get their energy from other sources.  usa, middle east, will need more gas product ships to carry the gas to europe. trump coming to power may lead to more transport of grains to china. international requirements for more green ships. ships average age going higher.  all these lead to boom in new ships. maritime business budget usd900m  need not stop at that level. with leverage it can go to more then usd 1b.  also maritime business does not meant has to hold ships for rental or operating income.  if new ships has good premium at any time later, can always sell to get immediate profit and order new again.    like the property developer.  some buy land build sell, some keep for recurring income.  maritime business is a business. best to go asset light and get good income.  important is acquring long term shipping income contract with good margin dyodd.    |
