This is odd. According to the article, the deal was closed on 23 Dec 2024. However, Olam' s last official statement on the matter throught SGXNET was on 1 Nov 2024, in which it stated that they have received NBIO from SALIC but has not reach any concrete decison on the matter, they also stated that they' ve not rule out IPO too and will announce any development accordingly. So far, they have not announce anything so not sure how reliable is the article. Nonetheless, the share price did see a jump on 20 Dec 2024 and it is quite likely that something is afoot. In any case, Olam is pursuing ways to unlock value for shareholders, either through IPO of subsidiaries/demerger/sale so it seems that $1.2 is the bare minimum once Olam is finally able to unlock the value for shareholders.
