Because let say I was in the front queue after the mkt fully closed at 5.21pm, when the next day mkt open, my queue was far far behind. With decent dividend it is more potentially rewarding to hold for long as while we are paid via dividend, we are also waiting for caltalyst to propel the share price upward. The catalyst can come from various sources, i) dividend yield compression, ii) better business growth/prospects/results, iii) when markets are more risk on ,iv) revaluation with higher PE/trading closer to NAV etc and the examples are not meant to be exhaustive. Do not be sway by traders or self proclaim traders/gurus who advocate in and out of market for quick buck if that is not our cup of tea. For this counter, many will be in 100% profit without even consider dividend if it hit $0.70. Do we have conviction that it will hit $0.70 one day? No body can tell for sure but if we were to believe many naysayers here, it should be trading below 25 cents or 20 cents even by now. Instead, current mode seems to be major consolidation so we have to be patience. If you really wanted to get out and perhaps a good china counter is waiting for you, with your 30c entry price, you have nothing to lose.. Again if you have patience, 50c is a good price. x 0   x 0  Alert Admin	fed cut 1/4 as expected. give very eagle view of 1/2 cut only next year.    but still lower rates right? us market react negatively as it is on high ground.  future looks different with dow future up 115 points. fact is 1/4 point cut is real. so current interest rate compression has happen by 1/4 point. 1/2 point cut next year is expectations. that can changed. many factors will affect it. can be more or less. trump probably wants it to be zero.
