I was also quite surprised when I read in the slides, it appeared so plainly that I almost paid no attention to it until I went thru the slides for the second time... But there was also no further clarification on it so i am not sure what to expect from it... Additionally, the company mentioned potential share buyback/capital reduction for the first time. Two weeks ago on 15 August, the company published its first quarter net income of $690 million which was a 43% increase over the previous year and beat Bloomberg analysts' estimates of $646 million. In the week leading up to its earnings result, SingTel' s share price had rallied 6.3%. Singtel share price went up from $2.40 to $3.70 in September 2006. Then again from $2.40 to $3.50 in Feb 2009. Hopefully even more in 2024 :).
