Singapore, December 12, 2023 ? Sembcorp Industries (Sembcorp) is pleased to announce that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Sembcorp Solar Singapore, has been awarded a tender by JTC to solarise interim vacant land and rooftops of five buildings on Jurong Island with a contracted capacity of 117MWp (80MW).
The tender is the largest project by capacity awarded by a public sector agency in Singapore to date.
Sembcorp has been providing centralised sustainability solutions in energy, water, waste and land use on Jurong Island for over 25 years. Recent developments include the 285 megawatt-hour Sembcorp Energy Storage System and the upcoming 600MW hydrogen-ready power plant expected to be operational in 2026. These will enhance Singapore?s grid resiliency and support the decarbonisation of the power sector.
As the largest solar and battery developer and operator in Singapore, Sembcorp is wellplaced to support the Singapore Green Plan 2030 in transforming Jurong Island into a sustainable energy and chemicals park. Its gross renewables capacity stands at 12.7GW globally, including a further 473MW of acquisitions pending completion.
The award of the tender will not have a material impact on the earnings per share and net tangible assets per share of Sembcorp for the financial year ending December 31, 2023.

Those who bought would not want to hear negative views but the US Renewable Energy firms like Power Plug has dropped 63% this year because investors are expecting their borrowing cost to esculate and energy prices to drop unless there is another bigger war coming up.  The Biden' s US$ 750 billion in funding for health and climate projects did nothing much to prop up the Renewable Energy market.    Believe it or not up to you,  we are not seeing hope of a bounce in SCI but seeing a price correction to come soon once it breaks below 4.94.  May be the leap and bounce in price will come after Fed started to bring down the Fed Fund Rate to an acceptable level.

Further to its announcement on November 27, 2023, Sembcorp Industries (Sembcorp) announces that it has, through its wholly-owned subsidiary Sembcorp Energy (Shanghai) Holding Co., Ltd, completed the acquisition of 100% stake of Qinzhou Yuanneng Wind Power Co., Ltd (the Acquisition).
Following the Acquisition, the Group?s renewables portfolio of solar, wind and energy storage globally stands at 12.6GW, including a further 473MW of acquisitions pending completion.

Sembcorp to buy wind assets in China, India for S$200 million

Sembcorp says the wind assets collectively amount to 428 megawatts.
 


SEMBCORP Industries on Monday (Nov 27) said it has inked two separate agreements to acquire wind assets in China and India for a total consideration of S$200 million. 

The assets collectively amount to 428 megawatts (MW), the group said in an announcement on the Singapore bourse. 

Sembcorp&rsquo s wholly-owned unit Sembcorp Energy (Shanghai) Holding signed an agreement with Envision Energy Co to acquire the full share capital of Qinzhou Yuanneng Wind Power Co for an equity consideration of about S$130 million. Qinzhou Yuanneng owns 200 MW of operational wind assets in Guangxi, China, the company said. 
 


Another wholly-owned unit of Sembcorp, Green Infra Wind Energy, has also signed an agreement with Leap Green Energy &ndash an independent power producer in Tamil Nadu, India. 

Under this agreement, Green Infra Wind Energy will acquire the full share capital of two special purpose vehicles (SPVs) for an equity consideration of about S$70 million. The two SPVs own 228 MW of operational wind assets in Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Rajasthan, India. 

The acquisitions will be funded through a mix of internal cash resources and external fundings and are expected to be completed by the first half of 2024, subject to fulfilment of applicable conditions precedent in each case, including regulatory approvals.

No. of shortsale volume (4 Dec) 3,583,900 shares. (from SGX website)
So more than 1/3 of the shares transacted yesterday was shorted. Lol

My guess is those who had gotten their employee shares lately sold off which entice shortsellers to join and cause panic holders to sell. If true, it' s an opportune time for long term holders to accumulate.
