Yes, IF this is considered the " certain identified liabilities" , then Keppel corp would have to pay. Otherwise Seatrium is liable. It is either KC or Sink51.

I am not optimistic for Monday as the taboo word " Long term" have been mentioned twice in the last 24 hours. Personally, I prefer immediate short term gain rather than long suffering pain that manyh her wish for themselves. Usually, LT is used to console oneself for making huge losses at the moment. A self deceiving way to try to numb the pain of losing money. |

As stated in the 27 April 2022 announcement, the Retained Stake will be placed in a segregated account to fund claims, if any, relating to certain identified contingent liabilities for a period of up to 48 months from the completion of the Proposed Combination. Norwegian company Awilco Drilling said an arbitration ruling has been made in its favour in a legal battle with a Singapore-based offshore yard over a cancelled drilling rig order. Awilco said it had received the arbitration tribunal ruling in the dispute with Keppel Fels (now part of Seatrium), which was in its favour in the amount of US$43 million plus interest and legal costs. Hopefully it is Keppel corp who has to pay the bill and not Seatrium... |

So they usually pay more attention to companies that are included in major indices. Seatrium already has institutions on the share registry. Indeed, they own a respectable stake in the company. This can indicate that the company has a certain degree of credibility in the investment community. However, it is best to be wary of relying on the supposed validation that comes with institutional investors. They too, get it wrong sometimes. When multiple institutions own a stock, there' s always a risk that they are in a ' crowded trade' . When such a trade goes wrong, multiple parties may compete to sell stock fast. This risk is higher in a company without a history of growth. You can see Seatrium' s historic earnings and revenue below, but keep in mind there' s always more to the story. |
