Assuming if Bloomberg report is true that NOL had sent sale document to prospective buyers to submit first round of bids by end Nov which is 3 weeks from now, will NOL be able to complete the sales quick enough by end Dec to lock in the huge profit against the book value of APL Logistic which is only US$124m and to avoid reporting 4th year of loss ? | ||||

It is not up to the NOL Mgmt to decide to accept or reject TH's buyout offer. It's the shareholders like most of us here.
Not only TH, but Hapag is another possible contender. It has just cleared all regularly hurdles for its merger with CSAV. It may turn its attention to NOL esp when NOL price of 0.765 is so much lower than its NAV of 0.92 and near 1.00 when it openly expressed its interest to merge with NOL to increase its market share for Asia-US routes. Problem is that these potential may not help for the short term price pressure from traders who are pressing down NOL prices. What may help is NOL clarification and reassurance that the problem of OW Bunker will not have significant financial impact to NOL and NOL has secured deliveries of bunker fuel to avoid any disruption. NOL updates and plan for the sale of APL Logistic will be very helpful. The carrot of potential windfall of US$1b will change the whole game plan. However, NOL is known to be very news averse as we can hardly read news about them being reported by any international magazines and their disclosure to SGX is far and few. Hope they can wake up to realise transparency and timely disclosure is essential for good investor relations and will also support share price, if they have an interest in it ! THE Hapag-Lloyd merger with Chile's Compania Sud Americana de Vapores (CSAV) has cleared regulatory hurdles with Brazilian regulator Conselho Administrative de Defensa Economica (CADE), the German carrier announced. Hapag-Lloyd and CSAV's deal in April was still subject to the approval of regulatory authorities including the US Department of Justice, the European Commission and Chile's maritime authorities. All of these issues have been resolved. The transaction will make Hapag-Lloyd the fourth largest container shipping company in the world, with some 200 vessels, an annual transport volume of 7.5 million TEU and a combined turnover of EUR9 billion (US$11.3 billion).

- Finalize buyer & % of selling APL Logistics through IPO share by November. - Issuance of IPO share by December Reason: Expediting will do NOL benefits, while delaying will do NOL harm as reflected in share price. NOL Management decision is crucial. Share price weight heavily on NOL ability/ inability to action. |

Suggestion:
Unlocking value of APL Logistics through issuance of IPO share for every single NOL stock is a must. Advantage: Can retain majority business & flexibility to management. This also increases the combined value. (NOL + APL Logistics) Hope to see APL Logistics issued at $0.80 per share. Bringing combined value to at least $1.50 and above. |

Even if Tamasek want buy, I doubt NOL will sell to him. NOL previously rejected Tamasek $2 offer. Because the management think it can fetch more.
Hope NOL success in issuing APL Logistics (my suggestion: 40% as ipo) instead of selling fully. APL Shipping also need to target sell/lease more ships. |

If oil price stay below 80, the giant container plus low stream will not be golden rules anymore. The shipping line can offer high stream, short voyage plus tight time slot to their clients to challenge the giant container which are low stream long voyage plus loose time slot. the main shipping cost are main power, fuel oil cost and chartered cost. Some giant containers are order by shipowner and chartered to shipping line at high chartered rate. Those medium size spot rate is relatively low. So the shipping market is going to be messed out by this round of fuel oil price. This will offer some opportunity to small shipping line a chance to compete with big shipping line. However, nol poor management may not be able to catch the change again.  |

Bunker price drop 30% may be lower, europe recovery, us congested. Oil price may be stay below 80 for long with additional shale oil,deep water oil.

It is just an absolute mockery of some posters here.. When they are not vested, they will be talking down this counter like it is going down and will be bankrupt anytime, once they are vested they can easily do a 360 and now suggesting nol is going to stock of the year.. Haha
