Below are excerpts from the research note: What' s new &bull   Sembcorp Industries (SCI) announced overnight that it had entered into arbitration proceedings between its indirect Indian wholly-owned subsidiary, Green Infra Wind Energy Limited (GIWEL) and Siemens Gamesa Renewable Power Private Limited (Vendor). &bull   The arbitration involves issues and disputes from a supply contract for a 300MW wind power project. After various defaults on part of the Vendor, SCI had terminated the contract with the Vendor. &bull   SCI is filing a Statement of Claim of Rs8,159.85m (S$134.1m) against the Vendor. The Vendor in return has filed its Statement of Defence and counterclaiming for Rs19,575.50m (S$321.7m). &bull   SCI believes that they are in a strong position to defend the arbitration against the Vendor, and that the counterclaims by the vendor lack merit. ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ &bull   No provisions have been made for the counterclaim. Based on external legal advice hired by SCI, the Vendor' s counterclaims have a remote probability of success. Why it matters No impact to SCI.
