YTD&rsquo 22 ICE Rotterdam volume has fallen 34% YoY from 360Mt to 236Mt, gC ICE Newcastle is down 5% from 96Mt to 91Mt while ICE Richards Bay is up 19% from 17.8Mt to 21.2Mt. Coal prices continued to rise in line with the wider energy complex with the Cal-23 calendar contract for Rotterdam and Richards Bay increasing 12% and 7% respectively at the end of June narrowing the spread with the Newcastle contract.

x 0   x 0  Alert Admin	To put it simply Newcastle coal is of  higher quality then ICI4 coal, with higher carbon content n heat energy suitable for both generating electricity n iron & steel industries. Therefore is priced much higher then ICI4 coal. Golden Energy has subsidiaries GEMS(Indo) n Stanmore(Aust) producing ICI4 coal(Therm) n Newcastle coal(Met) respectively. With the recent purchase of BHP(80% BMC) Met coal mine, GEAR is benifiting from the upwards swing of the coal price. Looking at the charts of both ICI4 & Newcastle coal charts for the last 6 months, GEAR coming 1H2022 profit should break all time records....Refer to KGI analyst last Target price of $1.29, Golden Energy at 43.5c is a steal ! There is something fundamentally not right for the coal market because even stanmore is dropping and not recovering,, Gentle reminder this counter used to be trading below 20c even after share consolidation.. happy trading.
