SHARES of Yoma Strategic Yoma Strategic : Z59 +8.38% hit a 1-year high on Wednesday (Apr 6), prompting a query from the Singapore Exchange (SGX) over " unusual movements" in the Myanmar-focused company' s shares.

 

The mainboard-listed counter reached a high of S$0.186 at 3.14 pm, up 11.4 per cent or S$0.019. The last time the counter traded near this level was Feb 19, 2021.

 

Yoma Strategic&rsquo s shares closed 8.4 per cent or S$0.014 higher at S$0.181. The company was also the second most actively traded by volume on the Singapore bourse, with 74.2 million shares changing hands.

 

By 3.51 pm, Yoma Strategic' s shares were up 10.8 per cent or S$0.018 at S$0.185. The company was also the second most actively traded by volume on the Singapore bourse, with 58.3 million shares changing hands.

 

No married deals were recorded, according to data from Shareinvestor.

 

SGX issued its trading query at 3.18 pm on Wednesday. In its response after trading hours, Yoma Strategic told the bourse operator that it was not aware of any information not previously announced, concerning itself and its subsidiaries or associate companies, which may explain the trading.

 

It said it was not aware of any other possible explanation for the trading, and confirmed its compliance with listing rules.
