 Alert Admin 		As you mentioned, 5% of their cash balance. The only problem I see here is the major shareholder do nothing leaving us, retailers to defend against the Wall Street sharks. And retailers to support the company's finance all the time. That explains why the share turned into a jinx from the mouth of so many investors. Trust is like a mirror, once broken can never be fixed back again. SM has a long way to earn back that trust and confidence. It a MUST

If today SCM (or anybody in fact) is happily chucking along, flushed with cash/projects, this probably would not have come to arbitration/light. Some form of settlement would have been reached privately and accounted for somewhere in the book perhaps buried.
But now every penny counts.

Just my opinion.

It' s true SCM not necessarily has to pay all or even part. I guess there is difference in interpretation of the contracts.

 Alert Admin 		😂 😂 😂 starhub revenue, profit and net cash flow all are in growth. SCM all are opposite. Of course buy big and hold starhub. If privatise, surely more than M1 privatise at 2.06. Starhub is only 1.35 now. Starhub market cap only 2.2bil. SCM is 2.78bil. Only scammers scam to buy SCM.

contracts for the supply of certain equipment for some of its projects.
JSPL maintains that the contracts for the supply of equipment were validly suspended or
terminated. Parties have been in discussions over the payment claims from the Vendor for
such suspension or termination, but have yet to reach an agreement. The Vendor has now
commenced arbitration proceedings making allegations of breach and for payment. The
amounts purportedly claimed are for invoices of approximately USD76 million plus other costs
and interests under the four contracts, all of which remain to be proved by the Vendor.
JSPL has engaged legal advisers for the four arbitrations proceedings and will defend all
claims made against it.
The Company will provide updates on material developments on this matter as appropriate.

 Alert Admin 		Singapore do not have any natural advantage on 5G (HuaWei), Semicon (TSMC) due to our small population base. In these industries, Singapore are just playing second fiddle or a supporting role to the leaders/ MNC.


For the marine/ ooffshore sector, SCM/ Keppel OM are truly global players with our thriving port bringing in steady supply of repair/ retrofit work.


In fact, the ports are keeping Singapore alive while the aviation sector is obliterated by Covid. And a strong offshore/marine sector is integral to Singapore' s desire to be a global shipping centre.


Are we going to be a champion in 5G, Autonomous driving tech or Semicon?  Go figure.

Offices in Singapore vacanted by offshore marine MNC are taken over by Digital industry.

Every industry is important to Gov, but which industry is the one to pump in money for expansion is based on actual action rather than lips service.

If in doubt, do type " trade minister marine sector" in google search. 
In there, you will find lots of news in GOV intentions. GOV invested and has plans in this sector. I do not even need to talk about TH commitment. 

Even tho the above is true, we as investor, should look out for facts/signs if SCM is on the right track. 
  • Marine sector uptrend but can SCM get more contracts ? The latest contract win is a repeat order. Usually, if one is able to get repeat order, it means the client is satisfied with your service , your price or whatever. It also tells that the company is relevent to such industries. If SCM is relevent, I don' t see why SCM won' t prosper during market upturn. 
  • R& D money being dump into drain ? There is no guarantee in R& D. R& D with no result is like $$$ sucking into bottomless pit. GOV and TH are very ambitous. They love to R& D and they don' t mind pouring lots of $$$ into it. We, as a minority shareholders, are just being drag around. To minority shareholders, our bar is low. We just hope that SCM do not make a loss for this year and following year and we will be delighted. Back to R& D, It is comforting to know that they receive good results in their recent 3D printing. At least, we know that good $$$ is not being dump into the drain. 
  • SCM profitable in executing projects during COVID epedemic ? For this, we do not know. And have yet to see
As we invest, we need to look out for signs.

Yes. Price falling are demoralizing. All of us can see the price. But price are not everything.

Buy a stock the way you would buy a house. Understand and like it such that you&rsquo d be content to own it in the absence of any market
