No need to bother about research houses and what they say or whether what they say is fair, justified, supported by facts/data etc etc etc. Really dont have to bother. BUY Calls or SELL Calls... hampalang all represent the views of one man - the anal-lyst. Since when an anal-lyst' s views can really move a stock up or down. There are more. Corporate earnings, change of CEO or any other top management officer, share placement, new contract wins, existing contract cancellation, expansion plans, acquisition plans, and the list goes on. They are all the same. Which is  -  it matters only when it matters. Which is, if smart money wish to use that data or news or event to drive a stock up or down. If smart money dont want to do anything, then nothing spectacular will happen. The stock in question will simply be pushed here and there by retail bulls and bears trying to outwit each other. And will usually trade to the downside over a period of time. Just like it has happened to RS in the last 12 months. Record-breaking profit was made. But smart money wasn' t impressed and didnt come. So nothing happened to the stock price. There was no uplift. Only retail bulls and bears were doing all the buying and selling. And down she went. That' s the reality of the situation.      |

I think so.  I don' t pick bottom.  For this kind of company with strong balance and high dividend, u can either practice dollar averaging or wait for it to u turn above 200MA.

Many like to pick bottom, I dont know how to help but hopefully below chart can be of some guide. Wait and see if there is a W bottom, a retest of the whatever low this round. If fail to push below on retest at least we can say or think seller unable to push it down further. So dont bother on first rebound, if shoot up fast and furious and no retest bo pian la.  Twice it happened before, a second chance to buy if fail to break below the low. All the bre@st

DBS has however maintained " buy" on Riverstone, as it expects a bumper final dividend of 39 Malaysian sen to be declared in FY2021. This implies an attractive 16 per cent yield, and will be paid on the back of super normal profits, wrote analyst Ling Lee Keng in a report on Wednesday (Nov 10).
The brokerage has a lower target price of S$1.20, compared to S$1.28 previously, after rolling forward its valuations on blended FY2022 and FY2023 earnings projections to reflect a more normalised environment, although the price target remains pegged at its 4-year P/E of 10 times.
Like RHB, DBS expects Riverstone to perform well in the long run because of its exposure to the cleanroom glove segment. This is a key differentiating factor compared to its peers, said both brokerages.
" We remain positive that Riverstone would be able to increase its market share from new and existing players for cleanroom gloves, given its dominant position in the industry," said Ling.

I also find 75% out of place.  Very unprofessional.

If we read other reseach , due to cmco in July to Sept , workforce redoced to 60 % , RS has a lot of backlog orders to be fulfiled . Now must running full capacity in production. The 75% utilisation rate should be in the period of cmco.

I normally ignore RHB as it is full of contradiction. For example:  Seem to be a unprofessional guessing.  Increase orders mean inventory    replenishment will be marginal.  That is illogical. " Despite an increase in orders for next month, the brokerage believes inventory replenishment will be marginal until a price equilibrium is achieved. This could potentially lead to further delays in Riverstone' s capacity expansion and risks to future earnings if utilisation rates continue to be sub-optimal, said RHB."   Also " healthcare gloves now range from US$100 to US$120"   seems to be error as forumers here said it is lower.

RHB has downgraded its call on Riverstone Holdings  AP4  from " neutral" to " sell" , with a lower price target of S$0.65, compared to S$0.95 previously. In a report on Thursday (Nov 11), RHB noted that the glove producer' s plants are currently operating below optimal levels - at a 75 per cent utilisation rate - as customers are minimising purchases to avoid high-cost inventories. Despite an increase in orders for next month, the brokerage believes inventory replenishment will be marginal until a price equilibrium is achieved. This could potentially lead to further delays in Riverstone' s capacity expansion and risks to future earnings if utilisation rates continue to be sub-optimal, said RHB. Noting that the average selling price (ASP) of Riverstone' s healthcare gloves now range from US$100 to US$120, RHB expects ASP erosion to continue, but at a slower pace, because ASP trends are likely to mirror raw material cost inputs.
After taking into account the windfall tax impact for FY2022, the brokerage has cut its earnings projections for Riverstone for FY2022 and FY2023 by 15 per cent and 19 per cent respectively. Assumptions about ASP and sales volume have also been revised and lowered. The resultant target price revision, down 18 per cent from the previous target, reflects a valuation pegged at 14 times FY2023 price to equity (P/E), in line with Riverstone' s pre-pandemic 10-year mean. The target price revision also considers Riverstone' s environmental, social and governance (ESG) score, which has been reduced from 2.9 to 2.78. RHB noted: " The market has yet to fully price in the risk of sub-optimal utilisation rates, and we think margins are not likely to improve to levels comparable to that prior to Covid-19." DBS has however maintained " buy" on Riverstone, as it expects a bumper final dividend of 39 Malaysian sen to be declared in FY2021. This implies an attractive 16 per cent yield, and will be paid on the back of super normal profits, wrote analyst Ling Lee Keng in a report on Wednesday (Nov 10). This is a key differentiating factor compared to its peers, said both brokerages. " We remain positive that Riverstone would be able to increase its market share from new and existing players for cleanroom gloves, given its dominant position in the industry," said Ling. As at 3.52pm on Thursday (Nov 11), shares of Riverstone were trading S$0.015 or 1.9 per cent lower at S$0.775. |

Bro investor, I think you are getting ahead of yourself. The bounce will come only after she has bottomed out. But she hasnt bottomed out yet. And who knows where that elusive bottom is ??? 60 cts? 50 cts ? 40 cts? 30 cts or lower ? Your guess is as good as mine. After that, if the bounce comes, how big or how small is it going to be ? That' s another mysterious question for the twilight zone. After these issues are settled, then we get to see where her new trading range is. I believe it will be narrow for as long as all the buying and selling are done by retail players only.  Just look at the daily spread of RS today or yesterday or the day before. That' s what you can expect when the only people doing the buying and selling are retail players. So if you are holding shares bought higher and if you keep buying now when she is still on her way down,  your average price is going to be pretty high. That bounce from the bottom, if the bottom is very far lower from the current price, is not going to be strong enough to reach your average price.  |

So we agree there is a bottom and it will bounce up and you say within a certain range trading.
So I will sell then to get out.
Waiting for that bounce..so far there is no bounce

There is a bottom. But after that what will the stock do ??? Will it bounce ? Yes. Will it do an UP, UP & AWAY after that ? If a monkey comes, yes. Or if Tua Phows come. If neither, then it will probably dingdong within a narrow range. Its lidat one, bro. If the only people doing the buying and selling are retail players, you wont see anything spectacular in the price movement. To me, the potential upside of this stock after it has found a bottom is not worth risking my capital. But that' s me. To each his own.    |

Yes I know.
There is always a bottom unless the company is bankrupt.
I am totally blur the logic of company with cash and stock kept going down.
UNLESS you tell me the company is bankrupt.
So there should be a bottom right?
I am sure you agree..You are saying stock price will stay down for 1 year

Bro investor, If it is a good blue chip and I cut becoz the market turns against me due to a change in trend, after cutting, I wont buy just yet based on gutfeel. I buy only when the broader market has turned together. For good blue chips, they do turn together. Which makes it easier to see whether the market as a whole has turned.  That is for good blue chips. But if it is RS or any other stock where the MRI report is similar to RS, then after cutting, I wont buy anymore. I may SHORT if I am in the mood to play from the SHORT side. But I wont buyback anymore.  The 1st time you cut a big position in RS, if you did not buyback, you would have been alot alot better off, isn' t it? Maybe also wont lose that 400k if the 1st time you had to cut was when she was much higher. Your strategy of cut and buyback or dont cut but average down..... works only for good blue chips which are in an uptrend. Or in the case of an index....Dow Jones. . ![]()

That is why I average down. Now my cost price is already cheaper than sold price.
No reasons to sell anymore.
Loss of 400 k considered cut loss.
Now I can sell on rebound.
No need to wait sky high prices.
Isn't this what you will do? Cut loss and buy low?
