S' pore bars long-term pass holders and visitors from Bangladesh, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka APR 30, 2021, 6:50 PM SGT SINGAPORE - All long-term pass holders and short-term visitors who have been in Bangladesh, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka in the last two weeks will no longer be allowed to enter or transit through Singapore, Education Minister Lawrence Wong announced on Friday (April 30). This move, which kicks in from 11.59pm on Saturday, also applies to those who had transited through these countries and who had obtained prior approval for entry to Singapore. But returning Singaporeans and permanent residents who have been to these countries will still be able to enter Singapore, said Mr Wong, co-chair of the multi-ministry task force tackling Covid-19 , who was speaking at a virtual press conference. The change was made in view of the recent sharp increases in cases reported by Bangladesh, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka, said the Ministry of Health (MOH) in a press release. " Since we last announced some border measures, the situation unfortunately has continued to deteriorate, and we know that the infection is spreading beyond India to the surrounding countries," said Mr Wong. Very well written and a professional analysis - I agree fully - I bought at $3.21 and sold too early at $5.21 - after that it continued upwards.
Covid is far from over and on/ off travel bubbles to HK etc will not alleviate the cash flow problems. Most of SIA?s planes remain in the Australian desert and no sign of any meaningful travel resumption for at least 12 + months. Meanwhile, I see SIA as dropping back to at least $4.21 and I will re-enter there.

If we have stop South Asian from coming in and block those EP pass holders from bringing in their families who already have covid virus to singapore , we will not face this round of COVID spreading, i still remember India bar us from entering last year due to our high spike of COVID cases but our dear Transport Minister just cover both his eyes and quoted this " as long they came from a place free from COVID country then they are allow to enter singapore, within 1 week time we are hit by huge cluster of spreading....... sigh. I rather be more strict and sorry than allowing these south asian who have already kenna COVID to cripple our medical system and wipe out of singaporean life ......If not SIA price should stay  between 5 to 6 dollars.....

Looking at the number of cases today, i can only say COVID will stay here long. Banging on SIA will carry certain risks and is like taking a roller coast train . Covid-19 has been with us for more than a year since Y2020 Seasonal weather changes does not seem to have any impact on the virus We have to be prepared to live in a world with Covid-19, instead of hoping that Covid-19 will suddenly disappear and then the economy will recover  I hope u guys are not banking on Temasek and the next budget to keep on supporting SIA for many years to come ... ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- When the government gives out money or support, it has to take in revenue from elsewhere ...
