One shouldn' t be merely looking at PE ratios for a growing company, venturing into new areas of development/growth. Again, using TSLA as an example: - Why doesn' t Tesla show a PE ratio? The simple answer is that Tesla currently has negative earnings. Negative operating cash flow as well, meaning that they need to receive more funding to continue expansion and operations at this state. The &ldquo E&rdquo in P/E ratio is negative. A few websites show P/E ratios when they are negative, and a few others don&rsquo t. The ones that don&rsquo t show negative P/E ratios do so for good reasons surrounding the fact that it isn&rsquo t so useful. People are buying into TSLA based on future growth, etc.

Some numbers for prespective.. For FY2020, Oceanus posted earnings of $3.1 million. Market Cap now is S$1.73 Billion... PE is 558 times...assuming earnings expand 10x to S$30 million next year...the PE is still 58 times... What is the likelihood for Oceanus earnings to grow 10x??? Pls do your own DD... |
