Until there is a peaceful transition back to civilian govt (presumably in a "fair and just" new election to be held within 1 year - a military-dominated fresh UEC has been appointed to organise it), there are several risks for Yoma: A. Low foreign interest in Yoma Central and other Yoma Land projects - who wants to invest in properties there after this coup? Real estate is their main lifeline. B. Potential unrest from NLD supporters if Daw Suu Kyi is not released - the anger is simmering from the youth who have grown up last 10 years in more liberal democracy. Now they are starting with civil disobedience and banging pots/pans. I worry it will escalate and lead to street clashes. C. Withdrawal of foreign investments (esp Japan and ASEAN) due to sanctions - Where will the economic growth come from? Can China alone bankroll the economy? Will the Tatmadaw want a widely prosperous Myanmar or just an improvised / isolated Myanmar where military hogs most of the wealth / power?
