As at 9.02am, the watchlisted seafood supplier was trading 0.2 Singapore cent or 3 per cent higher after some four million shares changed hands. The share price then eased slightly to an intraday low of 6.5 cents at 10.16am, before rising back up to trade flat at 6.6 cents as at 11.32am. No married deals were recorded in early trade, according to ShareInvestor. An online Reddit post submitted on Jan 31, 2021 highlighted Oceanus as a "great growth potential stock" for its increasing profits, large market share and its pending application to exit the Singapore Exchange (SGX) watchlist this coming April. It also suggested a positive outlook for the group's Q4 FY2020 results, which are due to be released sometime in February 2021. The post has since generated a 35-comment discussion as at 11.41am on Wednesday. The shares have been steadily climbing since the group was last queried by SGX for "unusual price and volume movements" on Jan 21 after it achieved a then-record of 5.3 cents. In its response, Oceanus cited an unnamed stockbroking firm's internal non-rated report issued on Jan 20 as a possible reason, which according to The Business Times could have referred to a report issued by UOB Kay Hian. Aside from a "strong turnaround" that Oceanus had undergone since chief executive Peter Koh took over in December 2014, the report opined that the recent setting up of Season Global, the group's distribution business, would enable Oceanus to "penetrate China and deliver exponential growth". x 0   x 0  Alert Admin	If you are talking about P/E in year 2000, that is understandable. Nowadays, investors do not look at P/E. Tesla is an example. Quantum Scape is also another. We invest because we know the coming has potential to rise further. Their increasing profits has proven it. They are applying out of SGX watchlist has proven it. They do not have debt since 2017 has proven it. Former Minister Yaccob joined Oceanus last year Sept 2020 has proven it. I wonder what else is there to prove. Maybe Q4 results will prove it? Idk. Its your call. We Oceaners are here for long! Even if BB tries to short this, they will eventually lose. Also, those shorted this morning will have to buy back today eventually if they are not using CFD. Might even jump to $0.067 - $0.068. With farms atop malls, Singapore gets serious about food security. &ldquo These systems, by increasing stocking density&hellip allow us to be able to grow a lot of fish (or prawns) in a small space,&rdquo said Mr Alex Siow, chief executive of the joint venture between Opal Resources and Oceanus Group. He said that with traditional methods, one can farm only about 1kg of prawns per cubic metre of water. &ldquo But with the bio-floc system, you can do 2 to 4kg,&rdquo he said. Currently, Opal Resources operates as a hatchery, and sells fish and seafood to other small businesses, such as neighbouring farms. Mr Peter Koh, executive director and chief executive officer of Oceanus Group, said: &ldquo When you&rsquo re talking about commercial farming, when the place is too small and not scalable, it&rsquo s difficult to be profitable.&ldquo (That is why) Opal teamed up with us to tender for a bigger piece of land and invest in tech to be more commercially viable.&rdquo Mr Koh said that with the push towards tech, more of such collaborations can be expected in the sector.
