SINGAPORE (THE BUSINESS TIMES) - The former president of Sembcorp Marine' s (SembMarine) wholly-owned Brazilian subsidiary Estaleiro Jurong Aracruz (EJA),  Martin Cheah Kok Choon, has been charged by the Public Prosecutor' s Office in Brazil.

The charges against Cheah are for money laundering and corruption in connection with certain drilling rig construction contracts entered into by SembMarine subsidiaries with rig supplier Sete Brasil in 2012.

Cheah' s employment with the SembMarine group was terminated in June 2015.

Former key Keppel execs arrested in corruption probe

Several former key executives of Keppel Corp and its offshore and marine units have been arrested in connection with the Singapore authorities' investigation into the  corruption scandal  involving Keppel Offshore & Marine (Keppel O& M).


The Straits Times understands that they include Mr Tay Kim Hock, former president and chief executive of Keppel Fels Brasil, a wholly owned unit of Keppel O& M. He was arrested by the Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau (CPIB) and is currently out on bail.

It is understood that more than five others connected with the case are also out on bail.

 Alert Admin 		SIA or YZJ seems to be doing well, their shares pricing is healthy. 
SINGAPORE currency is having a good range also. 
 
Hope SCM can do same. 
SCM one time shares buyback could bring forward some confident than try short squeeze.

 Alert Admin 		Short selling is good business in Singapore.

56000 lot= 112* 500 lot per pax, this can be easy done. No wonder more people doing short selling than supporting the healthy growth of SINGAPORE company shares. 
 
SCM do NOT do company shares buyback. I have NOT seen any buying even when it drops to 113 last year.
Is it buying considered as insider trading but short selling NOT ?

 Alert Admin 		That would require one hell of a coordination by all sh. There are 170m shorts but billions running around. Sgx alone has 110m still available for loaning, plus all sitting in brokerages. Every sh has to somehow make their holdings unavailable for loan and then buy up as much as possible. With billions around kind of difficult.
