I doubt they are playing into the merger news. 3. SMM lost $ in 2020. That' s a foregone conclusion. Would 2021 be profitable? That homework we need to go figure out ourselves. Would 2022 or further down be profitable for them? If one doesn' t think so, then one should be in this stock. Period. Anyway, I was referring to Mr. Loh' s statement that you posted. Much earlier I already said that they explicitly stated they have left the door open for anything inorganic, including merger I suppose. And then the restructure of KOM. If one wants, one can continue to play the merger news to no end. My take is that the writing is on the wall....." ring fencing" O& M asset so that they can account for it and value it for the next move. If they exit rig, then their yards are not going to be fully utilized...better to hand it over to a neighbour who is still in the business of rig building... Exiting Rig biz is a bombshell in my opinion...KC was World no.1 while SM was no.2... Now on left with SM....SM could grab a better share of the pie if oil recovers... It is time our Singapore company to stop bidding against each other....
