x 0   x 0  Alert Admin	Yup. The way people are panicking now, Temasek gets to mop up excess rights. This is a much cheaper way of privatising the combined Keppel O& M and SCM business than if they had gone ahead with the proposal ealier last year. For me, I will buy more shares and apply for excess rights and ride along. It' s a gamble, but with Temasek being the majority shareholder, there is very good chance to see good returns when O& G markets stablelize. BTW, oil prices have been up a serious uptrend this last year. Prices have more than doubled already. Then the Rights issue should be 1.5 shares at 16 cents each for every 2 existing shares that you owned. In this case, based on 19 cents before the announcement, the ex-right price will be 18.28 cents. Sembcorp Marine still get the same amount from the Rights issue. But the market price won't have to fall below 18.28 cents now. The shortists should thanks DBS for the pricing of the Rights.

Why must SCM do business with Keppel which results in their share price being beaten down. Why must SCM be the losing party? Vote NO to this deal

I read here that NOL, the national shipping carrier was sold to a French company too, so selling to Yangzijiang shipbuilding cannot be ruled out. A better alternative to using Sembcorp Marine to bail out Sembcorp Industries 7 months ago and now keppel if what I read about the deal here is true.
