But yea, i sense that Tech is gonna get hammered this month. I may be wrong, but this will cycle the liquidity to other areas....clean energy, banks perhaps?

The pro' s know the current burst in US is due to tech. But if it continues to slide heavily sentiment may flow over to other areas. STI now is US down, it follows but not as bad now. But US up, STI still goes down...

SRS/CPF you need to wait for the agent banks. So it' s unlikely you could do the same. For example, to exercise the SMM rights, for CDP holders the last date to make the payment was 2Sep but for SRS/CDP, it was 27Aug, a whole 6 days earlier. Need to give them time to process.

Interesting read. It' s good to read different people' s opions. But ultimately it' s your money, you have to make the decision based on your own conclusion. I read it as the writer takes a more conservative approach. The numbers quoted are all based on current data, i.e. facts. As for future projection, it is rather hard. Everyone will have his/her own view. Everyone could be wrong, everyone could also be right. And the writer takes a conservative view. It' s ok. That' s his/her analysis. But IMHO, book value is not shareholder' s equity. If s/he used the real book value, based on the writter opinion, s/he might actually think it' s overpriced now, unless of course s/he was actually talking about NAV. Further, the writer uses historical P/B ratio, and used a very conservative one now. One factor that was not considered was, the historical P/B ratio has a conglomerate discount due to the mixed bisuinesses of SCI and also SMM drag. Going forward, would this conglomerate discount be removed? The general view is yes but it will not be overnight. Gradually I would think. Just my opinion. DYODD.

for those with custodian like SCB we cant sell today or tomorrow right till it shows up in the account, i thnk custodian or nominee account may lag by one day. | ||||

not correct. The dividend SMM shares will be credited to your account tomorrow morning (11 Sep 2020). the SGX share settlement is T+2, mean you can already sell the shares yesterday (9 Sep 2020), T+2, and SGX will settle the trade tomorrow afternoon (T+2).

SCM shares hasnt been credited to your CDP therefore you hasnt own the shares, so if you sell today its treated as a short position. If you sell tomorrow then its treated as selling to close a long posns. I suppose thats what the dealer is saying.

I am expecting 2 billion out of 7.5billion free SMM shares distributed by SCI to be sold off within 2 months. This should take around 2 months to clear. So SMM' s price should remain depressed for around 8 weeks unless there is a major corporate development during this 8 weeks.

Like that I worry once go down to 15cts tomorrow, SCM may stay around that, way below 20cts for quite a while. This counter is very much diluted now,so may not be worth as much as we think. Initially, I tot of whacking 1000 lots if 15cts, now I not sure is it a good move? Wat is the Sifu advices pls. | ||||

I checked with my Poems dealer, she said only tomorrow then can start trading the bonus share given to us,after checking from cdp that is credited. Today cannot sell, otherwise will suffer a buyin, I oso confused, they can differentiate today and tomorrow share? |
