 Alert Admin 		AMALGAMATION OF SUBSIDIARIES Singapore, 3 September 2020 &ndash Sembcorp Marine Ltd (the &ldquo Company&rdquo , and together with its subsidiaries, the &ldquo Group&rdquo ) wishes to announce that Sembcorp Marine Integrated Yard Pte Ltd (&ldquo SMIY&rdquo ) and Sembawang Shipyard Project Services Pte Ltd, both wholly owned subsidiaries of the Company, have amalgamated pursuant to Section 215D of the Companies Act, with SMIY as the surviving amalgamated entity (the &ldquo Amalgamation&rdquo ). The Amalgamation took effect on 1 September 2020. The Amalgamation is a result of an ongoing business review to streamline the Group&rsquo s corporate structure for better management control and operational efficiency. The Amalgamation is not expected to have a material impact on the net tangible assets per share and earnings per share of the Group for the current financial year ending 31 December 2020. None of the directors or controlling shareholders of the Company have any interests, direct or indirect, in the Amalgamation other than through their shareholdings (if any) in the Company.

 Alert Admin 		my understanding in normal circumstances borrowing cost is cheap but when a stock is going thru right issue. the cost of borrowing shares is limited and interest is much higher.
anyway they know what they are doing.
they are using their financial muscle. today' s value amount is $2,458,532. small tiny players like us just watch and try to follow as much.

Everyone know' s that once SCI shareholders get SMM, a large perecntage of SCI holders will simply dump the SMM. In that case, what is avoiding people to simply just open a CFD short at this point in time and wait for SCI shareholder to get entitlement and massive dumping occur to cover the short?
Is there something I am missing out?

 Alert Admin 		during rights issue, cfd is not available. the only way is by  borrowing share which is costly.
the take up and payment of rights end on 2 sept and will credit on 11 sept for sci and smm shareholders
the news that came forth is also timely, unlikely temasek is shorting imho.
again opportunists will like the take up rate of the rights to be poor but they maybe wrong.
bbs was prepared for the bombardment today and waited. the spraying of bullets at trade size of 100 units showed they are ready to engage
at the end of the day, smm climbed to 13 position from 20
just my observation. 
my position is to hold on to sci, having the best of both worlds. unlikely sci holders will sell their entitled smm shares which constitute part of sci portion. 
after the distribution of entitled smm, sci price will also drop.

With recent signing with SIA, SATS and PUB, plus things in Myanmar etc, this year is a good start after the demerger. SCI is on the better path towards business growing and profitability. With ex-distribution on 09/09, if prices dips more than justified, there will be a good chance for some collection. Some say $1.30, others may think minus off $0.80 of FREE SCM shares gives about $1.15 to $1.20. But what is a fair value for SCI? I see some opportunities when the prices swings and short term traders will also come in to play. Volume will pick up. Let's make use of the money making opportunities and the prices of SCI shld continue to head up in the months ahead after x-distribution drop. All the best to all vested. DYODD as well.

There is no equivalent of SCI after demerger in SGX. It' s the only Utility counter.
Regional average is 1.1. The other day I googled on that and saw US utility players were trading at 4x+ !!!
