I am not sure biolidics can compete against such a product. I am not positive for biolidics at all.

The Abbott one is a PCR without temperature cycle. Either it was not tested enough before rolling out or the users had not follow certain conditions.

Yes, there are hundreds of such anit-body tests out there. But the test kits from DUKE-NUS that reportedly detect neutralising ant-body is potentially a breakingthrough. It will be much useful .. giving indication of immunity.

SG also uses antibody tests sporadically for tracing missing links in transmission - example those who were infected unknowingly and had since recovered , i.e. PCR will not pick up such cases.

The way I see, the test kits developed by so many countries, it appeared to be rather easy except the accuracy is the key issue. If everyone can bring up the accuracy over times, the prices of these test kits will be similar to the face masks, drops like a rock when mass production is on.

I thought sg govt only currently uses  PCR method of testing.  Even mdm sg dowager  or whoever professor mak, even seems to imply theses test kits are dubious or will give false negatives  ?  Then why now so many test kits in the market now ah ?    Funny man.  |

Anyway, dont be taken out by fear. SG is only one MARKET. @-@, but of course if get SG is also good for company P& L end of the year. Hopefully they get to secure it too. According to the article :  There are also plans to partner local biotech companies  to increase the production of the test kits. Hopefully is this company.   |

On a serious note...Whats difference? Duke-NUS Medical School has come up with  a Covid-19 test kit  that takes just an hour, instead of the usual several days, to detect if someone has been infected before.   |

Detecting neutralising antibody is definitely superior. There are hundreds of anti-bodies .. you can read in the attached news.

If what the researcher said in the news is true.  This one can detect the neutralisign antibody , so it will be useful for assessing immunity in the population. Potential a big thing.

Is this cPass by Biotech?  is it another company GenScript Biotech.    Duke-NUS, GenScript and A*STAR launches first-in-the-world &ldquo rapid smart test kit&rdquo , the cPass&trade which can measure neutralising antibodies in an hour to boost COVID-19 investigations, from contact tracing, sero-prevalence survey, and assessment of herd immunity, the longevity of protective immunity and efficacy of different vaccine candidates.
