OKP' s subsidiary to purchase Kreta Ayer property for S$11.3m
OKP Holdings announced that its 51 per cent-owned subsidiary Raffles Prestige Capital will be purchasing a property at 35, Kreta Ayer Road from Visionone Investment Private Limited for S$11.3 million.
The freehold property is a three-storey shophouse with an attic, occupying a lot area of 1,568 square feet. The total floor area is 4,240 square feet.
The property is intended for investment and the purchase price will be funded by internal resources and bank borrowings.
An independent valuation by CKS Property Consultants pegs the open market value of the property as at Oct 13 at S$11.3 million.
The proposed purchase is not expected to have a material impact on the net tangible assets per share or earnings per share of the company for the financial year ending Dec 31.

With the removal of the SGX minimum trading price in June 2020, it will benefit OKH as it is under the MTP watchlist. Investors have been avoiding those stocks for fear of consolidation. Buy for trading. Chiong ah !

Got this news from SGX-Exch OKP Holdings Limited (the Coy" , and together with its subsidiaries, the " Group" ) refers to the announcements dated 16 May 2018, 30 May 2018, 11 July 2018, 16 August 2018, 19 September 2018, 24 October 2018, 13 November 2018, 8 January 2019, 21 January 2019, 1 February 2019, 15 March 2019, 26 April 2019, 14 June 2019 and 4 July 2019 in relation to the accident. A judge-led pre-trial conference was held on 12 July 2019, at 5.30 pm in order to address procedural matters leading up to and for trial commencing on 1 August 2019. There are no further pre-trial conferences scheduled at this juncture. |

Once penalized by LTA, the rest of government agencies will follow suit, and without big government projects, survival is at stake. Even newly bagged government projects may be dangling on the line for cancellation. I am sure there is an exit clause. |

OKP Contractors was awarded the project despite being assessed to a ?low performance score?, it was revealed in Parliament in August last year. A day before the accident had been convicted over a separate fatality at another work site in 2015. As OKP has been previously convicted, it faces a maximum fine of S$1 million. Many companies once got project cancellation from govt (LTA) due to accident seldom can see them again win govt project alone.The last time Stadium MRT Jap contractor no see it in big project liow...The L&M contractor default on completion of Paya Lebar flyover also dissappeared from the industry...LKN can"t complete certain power stn also seldom see it in industry.

UPDATES ON WORKSITE ACCIDENT AT PIE (EXIT TO TAMPINES EXPRESSWAY) The Board of Directors of OKP Holdings Limited (the " Company" , and together with its subsidiaries, the " Group" ) refers to the announcement dated 14 July 2017 in relation to the accident. The Board wishes to update that each of the Company' s wholly-owned subsidiary, Or Kim Peow Contractors (Pte) Ltd (the " Subsidiary" ), the Group Managing Director Mr Or Toh Wat, and employees Mr Allen Yee and Mr Wong Kiew Hai who are respectively the Project Director and the Project Engineer for the project, has on 15 May 2018 received summonses from the Ministry of Manpower and/or the Building & Construction Authority in relation to the accident. Under the summonses to the Subsidiary and the Group Managing Director, they have been requested to answer at Court No. 26 of the State Courts on 30 May 2018 at 9:30am the following charges that have been alleged against them: (a) that the Subsidiary committed an offence under Section 20(1) of the Building Control Act (Cap 29) (&ldquo BCA&rdquo ), and that the Group Managing Director has thereby committed an offence under Section 20(1) read with Section 31(1) of the BCA (on liability of officers for offences committed by bodies corporate) (b) that the Subsidiary committed an offence under Section 11(1)(b) of the BCA, and that the Group Managing Director has thereby committed an offence under Section 20 read with Section 31(1) of the BCA (on liability of officers for offences committed by bodies corporate) and (c) that the Subsidiary committed an offence under Section 20 read with Section 14(1)(c) of the Workplace Safety and Health Act (Cap 354A) (&ldquo WSHA&rdquo ), and that the Group Managing Director has thereby committed an offence under Section 20 read with Section 14(1)(c) and Section 48 of the WSHA (on liability of officers for offences committed by bodies corporate). Under the summonses to the employees, Mr Allen Yee and Mr Wong Kiew Hai, they have been requested to answer at Court No. 26 of the State Courts on 30 May 2018 at 9:30am the following personal charges that have been alleged against them: (a) that Mr Allen Yee committed an offence under Section 20(1) of the BCA (b) that Mr Allen Yee committed an offence under Section 20, read with Section 15(3) of the WSHA and (c) that Mr Wong Kiew Hai committed an offence under Section 20, read with Section 15(3) of the WSHA. The Company is in the process of seeking legal advice on this matter. The employees, Mr Allen Yee and Mr Wong Kiew Hai, are similarly seeking legal advice on this matter. The Board is deeply saddened by the unfortunate incident and wishes to reiterate the Company' s heartfelt sympathies to the families of the deceased and others injured in the incident.
