Been taking a closer look at the manufacturing players listed below (UMS, Sunningdale, Riverstone, Memtech) and UMS does seem like an attractive choice for exposure to the semicon industry. Fundamentally, looking at FY2011-2016 numbers doesn' t look too attractive because CAGR across a few items are in the negative low single digits: Revenue (-1.85%), EBIT (-4.61%), Net Profit (-3.95%), Net Operating Cashflow (-2.98%). But when I saw 1Q2017' s numbers I was quite surprised (should be the reason for the huge run-up from 80+c before results were released): Revenue at $41m, EBIT at $12m, Net Profit at $11m are at 39%, 50%, and 50% of FY2016 figures respectively. EBIT and Net Profit margins also strong at 29.8% and 26.7%. Solid Operating Cashflow of $7.8m (23% of FY2016), and nice cash position of $48m with minimal borrowings of $249k. Also of note is UMS was debt-free in years 2013, 2014, 2015 with the $249k borrowing only coming in 2016. The only issue for me is its stock price (which some of you below have pointed out has become quite expensive). P/E is currently at 17.5, although I' m not sure what is the average P/E of comparable companies in Singapore (anyone can advise?) Will be keeping a lookout on UMS.

It has to correct before it can ever move up again in the future. Looking at the sharp rise, next shall be a sharp fall.
