Heard long time ago there was this 3rd channel Cash Market. So one can sell naked in the normal Ready market, next day or before the settlement date, buy back in the Cash market. Sgx is slowly turning into a tinier mickey mouse exchange. It should bring back some form of 3rd channel so that those who were caught naked in the Ready market has the way out to buy back in the ' Cash' market before settlement date. Buy in is only on a fix date where else the ' cash' market can be any day before settlement date. Just a thought to make Sgx more vibrant.

  AVON was the first to set foot in China and they have totally pulled out from China the end of 2018..actually,  they are also the first  one to stop MLM selling and set up many retail branches in China and they must have also tried Franchising and decided not to push ahead.. there must be a good reason why.. so far,  there was no document about why they pulled out of China.  There were no reports of any wrong doing in China except they decided to pull out after they were fined by US DOJ for bribring the Chinese Government officers.

Think BWL will need to be more transparent on what they are doing especially about Franchising.  They are giving people the wrong impression that Franchising is more efficient and better than Direct Selling.  What actually happened in China is Franchising can earn 3X more but difficult to control the sale of the Franchisees who could always engage in pyramid selling without BWL knowing it.    If there are troubles,  not only the brand name of WBL will be tarnished but also WBL will have to handle the trouble as the Franchisees are under their direct control.       

The investors are not stupid and they should tell the investors about the risk involved especially when the bigger ones like QuanJian and Tanesee are already in trouble.  Understand these 2 companies have not only lost market share but the going converns will be a problem.

Let wait and see what BWL got to say.  .

One company with twenty over years history can be destroyed by few reports ? let see how. if you look back this company history, it is slowly growth in first few years but high growth after entering into china market , i still dont think they will do all illegal things, thier senior/ management staffs with them all is 10 years plus, if this company really playing money game / piramid scheme , then they are really in professional level especially survive in singapore this type of law by law country.  It is still possible to go for privatisation as in term of number of shareholders, top 39 shareholders control more than 85% of company share, if they are the gang , they sure go for privatisation to protect themselves for any legal law sue.

i know doesnt mean much but it  did not make sense a company doing a proper business for past 20 years and because of entering a new market and  suddenly involved all kind of illegal activities.Assume the profit is real , if i am the major shareholders , i definitely get it privatise to protect the wealth and this is a cash cow business , why i still need share with others.  If it is fraud , it will be more likely to be privatised as really very few shares in market and it is good way to kill shortist. Just like China Minzhong, who go for privatise after kena attacked . you never know who is in this game .

when the share price drop drastically ..... the shareholders kee xiao lew, might face margin call and the Bank will have lot of BWL shares for market to borrow or force sell the shares and hence share price will drop further.

Brokers only instituted trading restrictions on BWL counter at the end of Feb 2019,
and   shareholders used BWL shares pledge against loan are  those who bought  many months ago.
