U mean tumasek wash hands n drag others in,  a foreign coy at that?  Also,  where' s the indication that Indonesia is gonna increase infrastructural spending on water treatment projects that' s gonna potentially benefit hyflux when in SM' s control?

Exactly.
Don?t forget that when you profit from stock market, government doesn?t tax you. Win or lose is your entire problem.

If the government really go and help this poor old man recover his investment losses thru a bail out, then everyone else who didn' t buy any hyflux securities will know what to do also.

SM consortium is brought in by Temasek, they may have done a back door deal to be awarded Singapore projects, anyway the consortium will bring in huge opportunities in Indonesia with thousands of islands which need water. It is a huge save, all Hyflux has to do is clear it's debts and it is happy days ahead.

Too many diehard fans and optimists remain still hoping that White Horses or even Temasek will come to the rescue even as the ship sinks. Just like a replay of the Titanic................. ![]()

The group filed for bankruptcy protection in May last year, and investors still have no certainty about how much is recoverable. In a liquidation scenario, senior unsecured creditors can expect a recovery rate of 3.8 to 8.7 per cent, EY has told investors. Investors that rank below that class of claimants, including perpetual and preference shareholders, will receive nothing.   |

just read this at hyflux' s website,
WATER treatment firm  Hyflux on Friday called for its creditors to file proofs of claim ahead of scheme meetings as the company undergoes debt restructuring. The proofs, which will form a basis to vote on scheme proposals and to receive payments, must be submitted by 5pm on Feb 15. For holders of the company' s bonds, perpetual securities and preference shares, however, their holdings as recorded by the Central Depository Pte Ltd (CDP) will be treated as proofs even if the holders do not file their claims, Hyflux said. |

Retail investor' s Hyflux 6% PerCapSec# bond and CPS 6% bond also need to submit proof of debt.
Those are kept in CDP. The question is how to submit??

Cases I was involved in were those of coys under liquidation.  Not sure if procedures are the same for coys seeking debt restructuring.  What i' m saying is filing of proofs of debt may be a statutory requirement.  Anyway, recalling the first case I did, it was in the early 80s when I was still quite a new employee (in my mid 20s then) in the org.  There was this coy which owed us $90 (yes, that small).  We were after them like crazy.  Then one day, we received a note from the Registry of Public Trustees (think now it' s the Insolvency Office), informing us that the coy was under liquidation  n  had listed our  claim of $90 as one of its debts.  The Registry required us to file our proof of debt.  Recall that I had even attended a creditors mtg where we were told that, as an unsecured creditor, we were unlikely to get anyting.  Of course, in the end we got nothing.  So, there u have it.  If my memory still serves me accurately.  that was  part of the process involving liquidation cases.  No lawyer needed.  Only that govt authority required us to file proof of our debt on a prescribed form.  Hope this little recollection is useful

Hello Qanghoo, could you share with us your experience on 1. how do you normally file the proffs of debt? Do you do it through a lawyer? 2. is there usually a shareholder meeting afterwards? How do bondholders get invited to this meeting? Appreciate your assistance.

This is a procedural thing required by law, I think.  Recall that during my working life, I had  filed proofs of debt  on behalf of my employer as creditor.
