He also projected that the firm would continue to report a sustained increase in profitability over the next three years, which should result in Genting Singapore trading closer to its average enterprise-value to earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EV/EBITDA) of c.12x We believe Genting Singapore deserves to trade at its average EV/EBITDA multiple given a sustained earnings recovery outlook,? Song said. ?The reasons why Genting Singapore traded below its average multiple, namely elevated bad debts and falling earnings, are no longer present Genting Singapore saw its Q3 PROFIT JUMP 25% to $210.41m from $168.69m in the same period in 2017, whilst revenue grew 1% to $639.06m from $629.87m. According to its financial statement, its average daily visitors hit over 22,000 due to the stronger performance of its attractions such as Universal Studios Singapore and S.E.A. Aquarium at Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) *Genting Singapore Q3 profits up 25% to $210.41m* Song also added that Genting Singapore?s VIP customer business could propel earnings and its share price in the foreseeable future amidst micro uncertainty following trade tensions between US and China. Our confidence arises from the fact that Genting Singapore VIP rolling chip only stands at c.$8.27b (US$6b) and could increase by 50% but still not hit the previous peaks of c.$19.29b - $20.67b (US$14b-US$15b) he explained. Genting Singapore continued to selectively extend credit and grow its VIP business in Q3, with its VIP rolling chip estimated to have grown by c. 14% YoY, or 10% QoQ to $8.6b, the report noted. Its robust growth helped offset the negative drag from an above average VIP win rate of 3.1% in Q3 2017. For Q3 2018, the VIP win rate came in at 2.9% Meanwhile its mass business which comprises of tables and slots was stable with gross gaming revenue flat YoY, Song noted. They added: This would likely stimulate redevelopment around Yumeshima, and benefit companies with real estate in the area and Osaka-based construction companies. We also believe that drawing more foreign visitors to the area would increase the stability and growth prospects for the many hotels already being developed in the area. Yumeshima ? or Dream Island in English ? is an artificial island in Osaka?s Konohana Ward. The local government has earmarked the area to welcome the World Expo 2025 if Osaka?s bid to host the event is successful. A decision by the Bureau International des Expositions on the World Expo 2025 host is scheduled for November 23. Contenders include: Osaka in Japan Baku in Azerbaijan and Ekaterinburg, in Russia If Osaka wins its bid, it would mark 55 years since the city hosted Expo ?70, and this major international event would be expected to help stimulate business activity in Japan after the 2020 Tokyo Olympics noted the Nomura analysts.
