Let' s try to be more objective.  Does winning awards necessarily guarantee winning more sales.  Logically it shd.  Yet, it might not.  Also, one may win the most innovative award, but coming in second n further down does not necessarily mean not having the ability to provide the threat of competition to CT either.  Perhaps CT wld have an edge, maybe even a significate one.  But competitors wld surely keep trying to improve to do better, wldn' t they?   That is not only the nature of  doing business.  It is the spirit of human endeavour itself.  So, best is investors stay level headed n do their own due diligence ....

Not to pour cold water but Mr Sim did also highlighted the challenges ahead for this SXFI technology and explain why Creative did not eventually release this SXFI software into the mass market for free via Apps Store (quote whatsapp as example). And why his team opt for the early adopters marketing strategy & why Creative is not considering the traditional distribution channels.  If there are competitors knocking at their doors, Creative is prepared to sell them the chips. If smartphone makers are interested, no need to sell chips just " program" the software into the phone can liao. Same for Media Service providers like Netflix etc.  So the possibilities are exciting for Creative and should such opportunities comes knocking, Mr Sim said the next question is " How are we going to charge them" & then he gave a few examples" A shareholder asked Mr Sim if a 3rd party came knocking and wish to buyout Creative, his answer is " Everything got a price"   Their current focus is on the US launch tomorrow but do note that the shipments will take 45 days  ![]() Those keen to test out the SXFI can drop by Creative HQ at 31 Int' l Business Park #03 anytime during office hours. I' m an early adopter & a vested shareholder. I' m also aware that no matter how good a technology or product is, it can still fail in the market. But i still make a decision to invest because for the past 37 years, Creative is only focusing on one thing - To provide better Audio solutions to people.

Currently, only Android users are having all the fun. Wait till the iphone fan boys come in! This stock should be in play for a few more months to wait for the iOS version to be launched. After that, we will likely see some handsets makers already incorporated Creative SXFi sound chip into their own headset design. Same for handphone and PC motherboard makers. The potential is unlimited.

Creative Technology posts Q1 net loss of US$6.1mOCT 30, 2018 11:21 PM
CREATIVE Technology posted a net loss of US$6.1 million for its first quarter ended 30 September, reversing from a profit of US$22.8 million a year ago. The year-ago quarterly profit was mostly due to gains from the settlement of patent lawsuits and foreign exchange gains. Sales fell by 18 per cent to US$13.2 million, due to the uncertain and difficult market conditions which affected the sales of the group' s products Loss per share stood at US$0.09 for the quarter, compared to earnings per share of US$0.32 a year ago. No dividend was declared.In its outlook, the group expects no significant change in the market conditions and said that the overall market for its products remains challenging. However, revenue is expected to be higher for the holiday season in this quarter compared to the current level. With a small revenue contribution from Super X-Fi products, the group expects an improvement in operating results for the quarter from the current level. Shipments of Super X-Fi products commenced in the beginning of the current quarter for the Singapore market. Shipments for the US market are expected to commence towards the end of the quarter and revenue contribution for the quarter is not expected to be significant to the overall revenue for the group.  |

Let players pushed up for another 2 weeks before we see the pre-order number (for Android) in the US.  After the pre-order launch for US, we will have the worldwide (Android) launch for SXfi. That should cover months of November and December. Then lets wait for the iOS launch, which will be probably be December or early 2019. So can easily play until Chinese New Year 2019. Don' t sell too early ! |

If there are plenty of  competitors as per your hwz link then i will be even more impress given that Creative Super X-FI have won 3 awards this Year. Have the competitors mentioned in the thread won any form of awards in the same category ? If we are talking about a similar technology then how come Super X-FI still can win the WIPO-IPOS IP Champion for  Most Innovative  award ?  Definition of Innovative -  (of a product, idea, etc.) featuring new methods advanced and original.  So who should i give the benefit of doubt, the panel of judges or the hwz writer ?

Personally, without customization, surround sound from headphones just doesn' t feel like the real HTS because our ears and head are different, so we listen to sound differently. For customized surround HTS replication,  there  here are only two methods that i know of now that can replicate HTS, one is in ear measurement where mic is placed in the ears to measure what you are hearing. It is done by creative SXFI (not available to general public) and smyth realiser (expensive and people who have backed their tech is still waiting for their product). The second method is ear and face 2D measurement by SXFI and most likely where their IP is. Honestly, after listening to SXFI  amp for a few days, i  find that switching off SXFi amp makes the sound flat and 2D, so it is a no turning back product, once you have experienced it, it will never be the same again. So if they market it correctly to the masses, they may lead the pack in out of head  HTS replication tech and create a following, a movement. |

Friend, the Dongle will not attract the BB. The dongle (SXFI Amp) and the upcoming headphones (SXFI Air) are only the initial products of the SXFI technology. This game-changing technology, accordingly to Mr Sim, currently do NOT have any market competitors. So i guess BB will be looking at the software (SXFI technology) and what are the potential possibility (eg headphone makers / smartphone makers / Netflix etc)

Its dongle + the tech.. imagine if they can activate your XYZ app with SXFI sound.. w/o a dongle.. just imagine. each XYZ app subscriber collect $0.1/mth, every app get free money.. but ok la.. let the bears come if not no durians
