U.S. Market at bull peak sideline and come down in past 1-2 weeks just for 1 thing, prepare for rate high then move to long over due correction. So better pray hard not rate hike then market can bounce up for celebrating no rate hike. Rate hike is to curb inflation, property market price and 1 important market, overheating or over speculation market to prevent bubble formation. To hike rate for soft landing for inflation, property market price and stock market. Whether banks benefit from rate hike, time will tell but in quarter result, but stock price still follow stock market movement especially us market. So you should ask if rate hike will attract ill or bear? So you guess loh😁 😁 😁

In the past, market cheered for every rate cut. Will market cheer for rate hike this time?
Finally we are going to see 1%. But U.S. Hike rate due to good economic to curb interest rate by worrying over borrowing. Singapore is forced to be rate hike due to implementing interest rate free floating as per market rate. So the rate hike is going to harm or boost Singapore economic? Dyodd.😁 😁 😁

I am expecting banks to rise more when rate hike is announce....dyodd SINGAPORE: OCBC Bank was ranked third-strongest bank in the world, behind Hong Kong' s Hang Seng and Japan' s Norinchukin Bank in the ranking by Bloomberg Markets magazine released on Thursday (Jul 30). Two other local banks also make the top 10 list, with DBS Group at 9th and United Overseas Bank (UOB) at 10th, according to the press release by Bloomberg. To identify the world' s strongest banks, Bloomberg evaluated public and private banks with total assets of US$100 billion or more as of Jun 1 and they were examined in five categories, such as the ratio of the bank' s Tier 1 capital to its risk-weighted assets and efficiency ratio. Hang Seng is benefiting from the rising wealth in Hong Kong and mainland China, Bloomberg said, and this has helped it top the list for the second year in a row. In total, 114 banks worldwide were ranked 13 of them are private. |

I think bank stocks already factored in the rate hike news. Funds might play it up once again when the official annoumcenet comes out.. meanwhile agree range bound.. buy on dips
