There is no brokerage fee to pay for  CMA so why not, only a fee when the deal close. They would borrow scripts to short the stock. If for every share that they short, they manage to buy 10 shares, that is a lot of savings. They have done their sum for sure. Barring any  unusual circumstances, the deal will go through.  Huge costs for CMA at this stage if deal burst. So i am staying put.
