Black friday on US market Dow plunge by 500+ and crude oil WTI crash below US$40 and Brent touching US$45. Commodities are getting crashed currently and we might even see crude oil WTI hitting US$30 by the end of the year. Currently Bunker oil is at US$241 already down like more than 30% from 2Q high, freight rate hit the lowest at US200 for asia-europe in June and we might see ti testing this low soon. So don be too worried about the super low freight rate as it is a result of super low oil price. Both moved in corresponding, key to liner profitability is still maintaining high utilisation rate and cost cutting. 2 service trade service taken out in 3Q for APL transpacific trade lane, so more cost saving from network optimisation incoming. Might get another bout of saving from oil price crash currently. But all this pale in comparision to the impact of COSCO and CSCL merger that is expected to happen soon. This would cause Ocean3 alliance or CHKYE alliance to lose their china member and cause a big crunch in filling up the new order both alliance had ordered. APL put up for sale and G6 determination to defend their member APL from being buy off by either O3/CHKYE to fill out the void left by COSCO/CSCL merger. Maersk Line indicated they would sideline while waiting out the consolidation of chinese liner and APL sale so it gona be exciting to watch later in 4Q when merger news finalised. Nothing for ship trade since currently all fund managers are pressing the exit button for asian stocks and next week STI might test 2800 andhopefully we stabilise else it all the way down to 2500. Stay cool and sleep well and enjoy the show from the side. |

Not collection it short covering, for now no BB is picking stock for collection. Everyone is dumping stocks till China yuan stabilised and fed interest rate finalised. We at the end of the china boom economy cycle, now back to square 1 where a new economy cycle restart. Just don touch touch those supposed defensive stocks cos very high chance they would get sold off regardless of fundamental as BB need to cover forex losses. Massive blood letting next week so take care and sleep well. Don worry too much if u still holding onto NOL since ship never actually get boosted in this economy cycle so not much fat meat for BB to sell, just need to wait patiently for temasek APL sale news then u get ur rewards for holding so long. |

Pray to Ah gong also no use, today blood bath on all major asian indices as bad china pmi data make big investors nervious and they cut losses and run. STI still got some more leg to drop before stabilising at 2800. So don go in yet, wait for sign of stabilisation etc at least 3 weeks. NOL might go up during this kind of chaotic period as temasek is preparing a sale of APL and need to maintain the share price at fair valuation.Currently share price is way way under value at 0.6X P/B, need at least to maintain at 1X P/B. Just wait out for short covering later in the afternoob since end of week. By the way oil gona crash down to earth towards US$30 that meant bunker price gona move toward US200, that is another 20% slump for current price. freight rate low low is already a early warning of what is going to come, now everyone know lol market gona corrected to recession level so take care and stay safe. |

It is common sense dude. Every investors currently very cautious, nobody would buy and hold anything till the uncertainty about china slowdown and US fed rate lift off is confirmed. By the way NOL is a trader stock not for holding, if buyers wanna hold any stocks, there are better and safer one in STI. NOL strictly is a contra/short play due to it economy cycle trading pattern and uncertain earning prospect. Typical of growth stock, earn big lose big. Big rewards come only when company is being divested and sold for big premium otherwise it is well trade only. So don get too excited when it move 5% upward cos it can move the reverse too, now just enjoy the show and sideline is better. Tomorrow Friday see if more short covering else it gona slide back a bit.

NOL going against all odds todays and post 5% gain when everybody are in the red over china slow down. Maybe the short sellers last few weeks got wind of something big gona happen and all covered their short position before they all get caught. Let see tomorrow if further short covering occurs and as usual don touch touch ship till the coast is clear. Traps are laid all over SGX and any misstep u lose money. Last of all All the big players are exiting asiapacifc market don matter if making money or losing , they all drop like fly in the stock market. So for NOL, just take note since it closed at the highest price today and up to now no news leaking out from eith WSJ or other source to justify it. |
