Extreme Stock Valuations Trigger Selling: What to Watch in China
2021-01-12 00:34:33.64 GMT
(Bloomberg) -- The key to making money in China&rsquo s stock  market in the past 15 years has been knowing when to cash out.
Two epic bubbles and lots of wasteland in between. With one  equity benchmark once again hurtling toward a record, valuations
getting stretched and the central bank threatening to reduce the  pace of stimulus, it&rsquo s no surprise jitters are starting to grow.

Monday saw investors dump recent winners such as liquor  makers, triggering a broader selloff. While no one is screaming
bubble, the market is likely to become more volatile from here  as traders seek to protect their profits.

Bro Kazerin, I like those two rectangles.

This is a monthly chart of this river. every blue line is a support line previously which has been broken to give you an idea of what a support looks like, do the same as i did then follow the steps in the pdf, to do for weekly and daily. once you see daily chart you will see magic. i hope.

wavehunter      ( Date: 19-Dec-2020 13:13) Posted:

I posted this at the Riverstone thread....

......................................................

UP or DOWN, markets do not move in a straight line.
Hence, many believe Dow cannot keep rising.
One day, she will have to pullback.
Its just a question of how deep the pullback will be, not whether there will be a pullback.
When it comes, there will be a spillover effect on markets around the world.
Weakness will be felt across the board. The stronger stocks will fall less becoz bargain hunting will provide some support for the price.
But weak stocks which are being hammered and overwhelmed by generally weak sentiments surrounding those stocks, will come under
more selling pressure as people, driven by fear, head for the door.  In my view, COVID stocks (Top Glove, Riverstone, Medtecs & UG Healthcare)
fall under the category of weak stocks. And weak stocks tend to attract the attention of SHORTISTs. Cant blame them. We are all here to make
money. And to make money, we go where the money is. If there is a monkey in the driver' s seat and he is going up, that is where we should go too.
But if weak stocks are falling and still falling and the light at the end of the tunnel is not in sight, there is money to be made to go SHORT in such
stocks and let gravity, fear, despair and giving up do much of the work.

When one is trapped in such a stock and it is still falling, there are only two things left to do.
One is to stay trapped.
The other is to stop the bleeding and get out first.
Even if one is a long term investor. Let me illustrate.
Say someone who is a long term investor studied this stock and he thought that 1.90 was a good price to enter. So he bought.
The price rose to 2.00 after that. This long term investor was all smiles. But the stock hit a brickwall after reaching 2.00 and started
to fall. When the stock fell to 1.70 and the downward momentum was still strong, this long term investor who can hold for a decade
or more if need be, decides not to fight the trend and to stop the bleeding first. So he cut at 1.70 so that he can spare himself the
agony of more bleeding down the road ahead. After this long term investor cut at 1.70, the stock continued to fall and fall and today,
that stock has seen a LOW at 1.06 and havent seen the real bottom yet. This long term investor intends to reinvest in this stock but
now is not the time to do so. By cutting at 1.70, he has spared himself the agony of seeing his capital deplete by another 64 cts which
can be hundreds of thousands if you are a bigtime investor. He is still waiting for this stock to bottom out. When it finally does and starts
to recover, he will then buyback what he had cut at 1.70. Plus add more. That way, he wont need to wait for the price to recover to 1.90
before he becomes profitable. He bought at 1.90 and cut at 1.70. He lost only 20 cts. Just let' s say for illustration that this stock eventually
finds it true bottom at 70 cts and U-Turn and continues to power up and this long term investor, after watching the price action for a while
decides to buyback at 80 cts plus add more lots, to make back that 20 cts which he lost, this stock only need to recover to 1.00 and this
long term investor would have recouped all his losses plus made 20 cts for the extra lots he bought.

Just sharing another perspective of how a long term investor can also incorporate a stop loss as part of his overall strategy to play this
game better without detracting from being a long term investor.

Take care, guys.

Let' s see what kind of left right centre I am going to get.

I have refrained from commenting on these gloves/ppe counters because no matter how good intention you have, you are a shortist if you hold a view that' s to some' s liking or you are talking it down to gain a cheaper entry. laugh

For investments, it' s always forward lookings. Can the growth be sustained? can the returns be maintained? A good company can be a bad buy. Buy at a wrong time, then ? Their NAV? Way below their prices. So in my view when the price crashes, no real investors will rush in to buy. Hence that part of support is not there.

For technicals, these have been in the downward trend for quite some time, and the turn is not in sight yet coupled with the negative outlooks due to vaccines, is it a wonder they are where they are today?

The " play" has long gone. Their fundamental may be ok but Mr. Market is always right. Ignore him at your own peril.
(And I forsee I will get some sticks for this view no offence really no offence)
