Thank Starship for posting the article, but the heading should be Cosco Shipping International (Singapore) Co Ltd doesn' t have port operation business.
I am aware of another Cosco (*) in Singapore operating port operation in Singapore, and asked CEO whether the port operation will come under as new business of Cosco Shipping International (Singapore) Co Ltd, the answer was " No" that came under different business structure. See the Cosco/PSA joint venture:

This SG Cosco don' t have any shipyard operations at all. All sold back to China Cosco.

Fm their 2017 Annual Report:
" Discontinued shipyard operations On 5 May 2017, the Group announced the disposal of all the shipyard assets in China to the Parent Group. The transaction was on a willingbuyer and willing-seller basis after taking into account the value of net assets and profits and losses till 31 March 2017.

In August 2017, the Group&rsquo s shareholders approved the sale of 51% equity interest in COSCO Shipyard Group Co., Ltd., 50% equity interest in COSCO (Nantong) Shipyard Co., Ltd. and 39.1% equity interest in COSCO (Dalian) Shipyard Co., Ltd. (collectively the Group&rsquo s shipyard business in China).

The relevant authorities in China have given their approval for the transfer of shareholdings of COSCO Shipyard Group Co., Ltd. and COSCO (Dalian) Shipyard Co., Ltd. in October 2017 and COSCO (Nantong) Shipyard Co., Ltd. in November 2017. Accordingly, the 3 entities ceased to be subsidiaries of the Company on the respective dates.

Continuing operations
The Group recorded loss from continuing operations in dry bulk shipping, ship repair, marine engineering related activities and rental of property of $27.1 million on turnover of $37.2 million for 2017. Seven bulk carriers were scrapped by the end of 2017. Currently, the Group&rsquo s dry bulk shipping fleet comprises three bulk carriers. Companies owning the seven scrapped bulk carriers have since been or will be deregistered from the Registrar of Business in Singapore and Hong Kong."

SG Cosco now has only 3 segments.  Their Main business is now Logistics, the other 2 are classified as Other business:
-- Logistics (under Cogent 100%)
-- Dry bulk shipping (under PT. Ocean Global Shipping 40%)
-- Ship repair and marine engineering

They wanted the concept of Singapore RWS, hence it' s very likely GS will get it. It' s believed there are 5 in the market can do it and GS is one of them. Plan to have 3 casino, the chances are quite good, 5 go for 3. My 2 cts. DYDD.

As shareholders we would definitely like to see the price of our share increase. A mandate was given to the company to do a share buy back. At current prices which is nearly 35% discount to nav it is more prudent for the company to do so. It will show the group confidence n potential of the company. Wish that they will announce forgoing dividends for next month which is at tetaively 0.005cents which works out to about 8 million dollars n use that money to buy back shares from the open maret. Let us hope for the best.

Not all the postmen are like that guy lah. The postmen serviced my area, so far so good. What I did was, when door bell rang, I will shout out...." Coming....." . I always get my parcels or registered articles if I am at home. Have to collect from Post Office only when he/she came when no one is at home. I also evidenced one other postal inspector checking into the letter box on the mail delivery. In the begining, I thought this guy is postman and asked him some questions and he identified himself as postal inspector checking on the work of the postmen,

Very disgraceful service quality.  So many people colloborated that postmen failed to even knock on their doors................

SingPost delivers apology for recent ' service failures'
15 Jan 2019 09:05AM(Updated:  15 Jan 2019 10:17AM)

SINGAPORE: SingPost on Monday (Jan 14) apologised to  customers for its " service deterioration" in recent weeks, citing a " tremendously busy" November-December period as the reason for poor service quality.

" It would be fair to state that we have failed to live up to expectations in recent times," said the postal delivery service on its website and in a Facebook post.

In explaining  the background to  the  service deterioration, SingPost said it  delivered an average of 3 million mail items a day, but an increase in package volumes for last year' s November-December period put additional pressure on its services.

Netizen Andy Lau said in a Facebook post last month that he had to chase after a delivery man when the man left after knocking at his door for a " few seconds" .

" Delivery guy knocked for a few seconds, ran off and left the note before I can answer the door," said Lau. " I sprinted down and camped at his bike until he appeared. Confronted him about it and he couldn' t put his words together properly on how he waited for more than 20 minutes."

Following SingPost' s apology post on Monday, its Facebook page has been inundated with complaints of poor service from other disgruntled netizens.

" Recently I found a stack of letters on top of the letter box," wrote Facebook user Terrence Wang in a comment. " It includes letters addressed to me and a lot of my neighbours. Your useless postman just (left) that whole stack of letters on top of the letter box.

" I got to go door-to-door to deliver the letters to my neighbours. Am I the postman of my block?"

In another comment, Karen Law said: " The delivery man left my packages that are worth more than USD$100 at the door step and forged the recipient' s signature. That is totally unacceptable. When I emailed Singpost, I was given a generic reply. What' s the point of providing feedback when you won' t even acknowledge the issue and answer my questions?"

Facebook user Jonathan Lau told Channel NewsAsia that he had been getting failed delivery notifications from SingPost for " as long as I can remember" - even when someone was actually at home.

" The bell would be silent the whole day and I' ll get notifications when I came home," he said. " So I  reviewed my CCTV footage and found out that the postman just strolled by, dropping my regular mail together with the failed delivery slips."

" He didn' t even have my parcel in hand."

Posting his comment on Facebook, Lau rejected SingPost' s explanation about a surge in demand, saying that its issues were a " deep-seated problem that has nothing to do with surge in demand" .

Said Lau: " I wrote to say my CCTV footage showed your driver dropping a failed delivery notice without ringing the bell. That he didn' t even take my parcel from his bike. That I had received at least 12 failed notifications that past week when someone was always home.

This Co is liquid, and now is profitable for several years, it' s one of the best performing business and generating good profit. The major shareholder may take it back to keep the profit within the parent company instead of letting the profit to be shared by others. Besides, it can be used as a vehicle to compliment the OBR in the aviation sector. Currently, OBR is very much on the land and marine, but little weightage on aviation. My 2 cts. DYDD.
