it should be more than a pump and dump since essentially the new company is a SOE and China has consistently emphasized on increasing expenditure on the water treatment industry. |

I think what many people are missing out is that HanKore is a sound business standalone with strong fundamentals such as its recurring income streams. the CEI deal enhances what it has currently and that is something which would require re-valuation if the deal materialises.  as the situation stands, it is important to recognise HanKore' s existing business (trading at a discount compared to industry peers) and form your own valuation. it is rather pre-mature to predict the share price reaction on Monday. market forces will determine it, not our words. how about we just enjoy the weekend ahead? :)

to spivvy - wishing your mum all the best bro 珍 惜 眼 前 人 ! ---- on HanKore - there are any others who follow TA, it has always closed above or at VWAP for the past three trading days. despite some selling pressure from retail investors doing profit taking or cutting losses, the chart also reveals a bullish divergence trend so the sentiment remains positive.  before the run-up last Friday, HanKore' s trading was also rather muted though being supported when the selling pressure intensifies. at current price levels and excluding the CEI deal, HanKore remains undervalued compared to industry peers. as such, I personally feel that there is still speculative  and  fundamental  upside.  |

when it comes to investment in emerging markets, stability within the political scene is very important. with the upcoming Indonesian presidential elections slated on 9 July 2014, would it be a better idea to wait for more visibility?   |

if you follow the sequence of events, before the announcement of RTO, share price already steadily rose till S$0.70 - S$0.80 upon announcement of good financial results and I believe to a certain extent, Alan Wang' s substantial shareholding in the company. investors, speculators inclusive, subsequently bought the shares up to a record high of S$1.49. uncertainty, panic, fear together with a lacklustre set of financial results sent the share price pretty much down to where it was. however, if you scrutinize the recent set of results, it was in fact a one-off accounting loss due to a previous acquisition which was marked to market value.  I believe Alan Wang' s second share purchase on the open market recently at an average price of S$0.96 in May 2014 speaks volume about his confidence in the management and company but as most investors would be familiar with Alan Wang' s trading strategy, he is more of a fundamentalist. on the macro aspect, the Chinese government yesterday announced plans to speed up construction of water infrastructure projects (http://www.reuters.com/article/2014/05/22/china-water-idUSL3N0O81SU20140522) and most if not all companies in the industry (listed in HK) rallied. (China Everbright International, 257.HK Beijing Water Enterprise, 371.HK CT Environmental Group, 1363.HK) --- conclusion: long-term positive about HanKore fundamentalists should look beyond the near-term uncertainty surrounding China Everbright deal just my two cents worth.

Wow, thanks for the very insightful sharing moneycow!  I guess it helps to hear it from someone who had been following the company a while ago rather than picking up analysis from where I come from. Really appreciate it, now I may just keep it on radar but keep my cash intact.

I think it is unfair to consider DMX a " lousy" company based on " big revenue tiny profits" . If so, many companies listed worldwide would be considered " lousy" . You have to take into consideration that this company essentially comprise two separate business divisions, the ICT and digital media. While it is industry knowledge that system integration is a capital intensive business, it would be a shame to neglect the contributions of the digital media. Trading at 0.48 P/BV, P/E of less than 10 and more importantly, EV/EBITDA of less than 4, I consider this a deeply undervalued company more than a " lousy" one. Just my two cents worth.  |

Not entirely familiar with this counter but highly interested in their recently approved share buy back scheme. Seems like the management has strong conviction or at least supports the share price when Courts went underwater post-IPO, the company also bought back a considerable amount of shares during the stabilisation period.  Post approval of the shares buy back scheme, they had also continued to buy back shares at sub IPO price of S$0.78. Can we expect near-term technical rebound or is it a case of catching fall knives at this point in time?   |

just looked up the company and it seems like they supply tiles for HDB flats. with the bulk of new flats coming through in 2014/2015, this might be an interesting play with a very attractive P/E too.  |
