" Cermaq said its tender offer would be launched in late April. The group, which is 43.5% owned by the Norwegian government, will then need the approval from the Norwegian parliament for the deal, in a vote scheduled in May."

" The Dyer-Coriat family, which will own 7.5% of shares in Cermaq as part of the sale, intends to remain a long-term investor in the company, he said. The family has accepted a two year lock up period for the shares in Cermaq they receive as part of the transaction."

CF is able to make quick and decisive move, watch and see ...... don't be surprise ......

Seniors,

Any comments, ....   pick it up from Undercurrent News

China Fishery highlights Peruvian overcapacity, risk in Russian pollock    March 27, 2013

Singapore-listed China Fishery Group highlighted the challenges it faces in its Peruvian fishmeal and Russian pollock operations in a stock exchange notice related on March 26.

In the statement — related to the $344-353 million rights issue it is planning to fund its  $556m acquisition bid for Copeinca  — the Pacific Andes subsidiary highlighted the continuing uncertainty it faces in its Russian (mainly pollock) operations, which account for 62% respectively of its total revenues.

China Fishery believes its  supply agreements with Russian vessel owners  do not amount to controlling the vessel owning companies, and therefore are within the boundaries of Russian law, said the group.

“However, we cannot assure you that Russian Federal Anti-monopoly Service (“FAS”) or a Russian court will not take the opposite view, which may lead to such agreements being invalidated,” it said.

Another passing thought, there is only 3 days left to sell. Meaning on the 28 Mar, the rights start trading, buyers can then buy the rights or buy the mother shares. Pretty interesting ...... cool

  UPRR18,

Sorry this is just my thought, I am hoping the Seniors can expound or enlighten us with their experiences. Like I said why would I chase the stock now ??

From my last experience, the buyers may just be a facade it is hollow. Sometimes need to be tested. During the closing of the rights, I witnessed the volume of buyers were genuine, ... no matter how you punch ... left, right jab, uppercut .... the wall hold steady and strong.

Why not during the rights' trading period because then you can buy cheap .... ??? Isn't it

Veteran Tchoonw, that may happen but with good governance and market capitalisation S$613,910,000 they are not penny (junk) stock i guess. I have faith in the company.

Was I wrong with my assumption ...... ??? If yes, please advise.

If this assumption is correct, can I then assume that  the buyers are simply carried away by their emotional  .... or otherwise ...

Rightly, like what Master Starlene said, If CF acquires Copeinca, this " sleeping fish" will emerge into the largest and most beautiful fish, King in the Ocean, THE BLUE MARLIN.  If it doesn't the company will be flushed with liquidity ... and it is good for shareholders and the future of CF. I maybe wrong .... please share your thoughts

For for my logic mind  ...

Veteran Guo said " .... if 27 March closing at $0.470 .... the nil-paid rights = S$(0.47-0.34) = S$0.13 ......."

Can I said that eg ......if 27 Mar the price is at $0.45,   Then the price of the nil-paid rights = S$(0.45-0.34) = S$0.11

Isn't it true that it is better to buy during this period. Just putting 1+1 together .....

Blanchard

Thank you for the info.

" The group has at most until April 15, when China Fishery’s tender offer ends, to come out with a competing offer." We should know the result by 15 April 2013.

Since it is already ex rights, why are people wanting to buy now ???

Why not buy during  " 28 March Commencement of “nil-paid” rights trading on SGX-ST" ???

Thanks

Aftermath of CF's rights issue.

Kudos to Master Starlene, you are so right in your analysis. I'm sure you are a seasoned player. Thank you all seniors for the contributions, in term of info and advice. Halleluyah is correct, BBs did play funny .... at one stage was trading in a narrow range, and when you take your eye off for a moment, this " sleepy fish" tranform into one of the largest and most beautiful fish in the ocean, The Blue Marlin. Many tried to tame the fish but it continue to charge forward and cross the psychological barrier of $0.60 at the close of the bell. I held my breath all the way to the end .... shiok ... it is like watching a boxing match.

What's next ???   Hope the Seniors can give their thoughts ....   When will we know the takeover of Copeinca by CF ?  Is there a dateline drawn for the takeover ? Thanks

RESULTS OF EXTRAORDINARY GENERAL MEETING

The Board of Directors of China Fishery Group Limited (the " Company" ) is pleased to announce that all resolutions relating to matters set out in the Notice of Extraordinary General Meeting (" EGM" ) dated 28 February 2013 were voted on by way of a poll.

All resolutions were passed at the EGM of the Company held on 19 March 2013.

Yesterday was amazing, this is my analysis, maybe genuine buyers  are wanting to have a stake in this BBs and many short sellers realised and sell down. Man is like a wrestling match, they tried very hard to sell down but the wall of buyers just keep coming.

Guess what a check with SGX, there is no account of shares being short. Understand today is the last day and any short position will be closed automatically (let me know if I'm wrong). This is my first time watching an event. WOW it is AWESOME !!!

Seniors, what is your take on this. Today is the last day for the RIGHTS ..... Pray it will be UP ... UP and away ...

Guys, found this article very interesting,

[SINGAPORE] As they put the nightmare of the global financial crisis behind them, high net worth individuals are turning positive on equities and buying them again. But they are not really participating in the " great rotation" - Wall Street's hypothesis of a once-in-a-generation bond sell-off - to pay for riskier equity assets  say seven private banks  interviewed by The Business Times.

The majority of clients he surveyed are positive on equities now, he said.  " But if you ask how they're investing, they still haven't implemented their strategy. So it's a slow move back in. If we get three quarters in a row of good news, then they'll come rushing  back."

Pray tomorrow EGM meeting has a major Boomz. Big Cheers  Smiley  Huat Ah !!!

Hi Starlene, I remember Halleluyah asked for your prediction.

" Peru's Copeinca Vulnerable to China Fishery Takeover - J.P. Morgan" by Blanchard.  Question :

  1. It is pretty obvious that looking at all circumstances, China Fish has strategically positioned themselves well in acquiring Copeinca and tomorrow is the EGM and nearer to the Ex-rights. The interest of the majority shareholders and  those who want to have a stake in CF  outweight the number of speculators, (shortsellers). Halleluyah, how would the last day $0.57/0.575 ? I would love that to happen {on the last day} to BUY more ..Smiley
  2. Does not seem to make sense ?
  3. Someone told me, just like Olam after the saga by Muddy Water, after the ex-rights the price went up and is poise to recover further.
Starlene, what is your take regarding this ? Kamsia

Thank you all Seniors for your sharing.

Halleluyah is right, " Dun wait till last dy incase BBs play funny." Just the other day I was lamenting that the stock is trading in a tight range and today it just gallop faster than I thought. If only ...... now I understand why people short the market. Just a wishful thought, please short the market so I can get in ..... Haha

Come to think about it, shortists are very pro and cool, know when to do it. It takes a lot of courage and experience to be able to know how to execute it. Can't imagine shorting and the market shoot up, honestly don't know what to do ....   Kudos to those people who sell short.

As for me, I better learn how to crawl which is long ...

I like what Serialain  said " let's pray there 's something cooking in the corporate boardrooms to have a major boomz soon"   Huat Ah !!!Smiley

Why would anyone wants to short the market when it is so near to ex-right ? Halleluyah. Sorry, is it true that Short Position will be covered on the 20 March 2013 ? I'm trying to understand the length and breadth of this market, how is behave ? With knowledge from you, Seniors I hope I am doing the right thing. Cheers

Like I said I am not selling for sure, if it goes down further I will buy more to keep.

Starlene is right.

Can you imagine, it must have been careful planning by China Fish to acquire Copeinca,  Peru's No. 2 fish exporter to be the World Largest Fish Exporter. Either which way is good for CF buying a undervalued and profitable company.

Mostly importantly the company is sound,  " The credit agency Fitch Ratings has affirmed its BB- rating on China Fishery Group and removed it from its negative rating watch, saying no major deterioration or improvement is expected in the next 12 months.
The decision reflects Fitch’s assessment that China Fishery –  the fishing subsidiary of Pacific Andes International Holdings –  ”is not likely to suffer imminent substantial losses in its contract supply operations in Russia”, said Fitch
."

Look  like I will keep the stock for good. Thanks to all the seniors

Kam sia,

Rest assured when agm date draws nearer will shoot up..typical of this stock, esp cum right
Even if deal aborted, rights issue will boost its coffers, shd head back to higher level again

Could it be the wall for CF sell is really hollow. It appears that the past few days there is no short sell trades because most of them are keeping for rights. If that being the case then the sell wall is hollow or weak. But again if I'm a buyer why would i want to push the price up ... makes no sense. Maybe to cater for the fall when it ex rights. Man ... this is complex .... urgh .... whatever I am in the queue right now, naturally I prefer it to fall ..... hehe
