A number brokers recommended people to buy singpost because it' s cheap now.
For what reason?
The  Dividends is reduced to utter crap now, with impending impairments< - does not matter if they don' t declare. It' s a ticking time bomb/tumour. Better to excise it now than later.
They have been dropping hints about impairments in EGM more than 1 year ago. Basically, it means that their goodwill investments are not paying off. That goodwill could amount  to around $500 million.

Question is, we don' t know how much impairments there is to come.

A lot of these issues occurred  when there was " governance issues" , it was sounded fishy when they spent close to $500 million on goodwill without having EGM before buying.
My advice is to wait for them to drop the bomb, then enter.

Singpost is for dividends,... if dividends are not certain, then that' s it,... and coupling this with possible  impairments to be set aside for losses,... what else is there to hope for ?

A lot of broker recommend people to buy singpost, because of their vested position. Hence the support we are seeing. If singpost decides to declare impairments, be prepared to see all hell break lose.

New CEO not in yet..

chengwh1      ( Date: 03-Mar-2017 20:53) Posted:

To add further,... Singpost has always  been an income counter. The dividend policy has always been favourable till the new CEO takes over. And he said starting from November last year, they will only payout 60% to 80% of earnings. But in the recent qtr reporting, they paid out LESS than 60%,............... what is this ????

Just wait for them to declare impairment next quarter. If not, who wants to buy a ticking timed bomb.
