I agree. Don't anyhow mislead people into shorting the market when the market is obviously going the opposite direction since last year. That person really should not be tolerated!

Stocks is a serious game, especially for all the innocent stock newbies.

Anyone who misleads others about stocks is not to be tolerated.

All must be discerning to know who is actually misleading people,

and who is giving valuable insight.

Based on your sayings, a trader better stay out of the market and don't take any calculated risk at all.

iPunter      ( Date: 12-Jan-2013 17:25) Posted:

This is very dangerous for stock newbies, because they always want to believe in something,

Anything that sounds authentic to them, they will believe. And when they believe, they will " mau " .

Now regarding direction and trend, no one can tell the direction or the trend.

The trend or direction which is revealed by the market is only till the present moment.

From this present moment on, the direction or trend can change or reverse.

In other words, no one knows when it will reverse. It may reverse, it may not.

To say that it is going in any particular direction is being contentious,

and that is bad. Hope stock newbies get the point so far. But I bet not... lol... Smiley

It is really up to them how they want to position themselves after this latest measures. The tide has turned against the property sector. Maybe they might consider to be more more heavy on the oil and gas sector play. The recent strong performance in this sector is also due to their accumulation activities.

So which sector will the funds go to? Shipping?

Peter_Pan      ( Date: 12-Jan-2013 12:15) Posted:

Given the latest property cooling measures, big funds may consider shifting their funds into sectors with obvious growth potential in 2013. The sun may have finally set on the property sector here.

NEW YORK (MarketWatch) — With the S& P 500 near a five-year high and data showing whopping inflows into stock funds at the beginning of the year, the cult of equity may not be quite dead yet, after all.

I believe sifu Iso would have cut in steps... which means he will not be losing much.

Don't forget, good traders take small losses and then re-enter at good points...

That is what good traders do, they seldom hold and hold and add on,

which is what makes normal people " pengsan' or " pok!" ... lol... Smiley

Regional Plantation-  Inventory ends higher in 2012, coupled with the better production growth  in 2013, CPO price is unlikely to perform in 2013. Maintain  UNDERWEIGHT.

Inventory ends higher at 2.63m tonnes  (+2.4% mom, +27.6% yoy) in Dec 12, in line with our expectation but above consensus expectation. This was mainly due to the better-than-expected CPO production of 1.78m tonnes (-5.9% mom, +19.1% yoy) while exports remained flat at 1.65m tonnes (-0.7% mom, +3.7% yoy).

Better CPO production in 2013.  We are expecting better CPO production in 2013 of 19.0m-19.3m tonnes on strong yield recovery and no weather interruption. In 2012, Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB) reported CPO production of 18.8m tonnes (-0.7% yoy), above our expectation of 18.4m tonnes on strong production in Nov and Dec 12.

Average CPO price in 2012 of RM2,855/tonne  (-12.9% yoy) is slightly below our expectation of RM2,900/tonne. For 2013, we are expecting the average CPO price to stay at RM2,900/tonne and trade between RM2,500/tonne and RM3,200/tonnecapped by the high inventory level carried forward from 2013 and better production growth. Nevertheless, inventory would likely to be on a downtrend in 1Q13 on low production season but remain high at 1.8m-1.9m tonnes.

Maintain UNDERWEIGHT.  Plantation  stocks are expected to underperform the market when CPO price trades sideways. SELL IOI Corporation (IOI MK/SELL/Target: RM4.45), Golden Agri-Resources (GGR SP/SELL/Target: S$0.62), Genting Plantations (GENP MK/SELL/Target: RM6.60) and IJM Plantations (IJMP MK/SELL/Target: RM2.40).

STOCKS NEWS SINGAPORE-Shipbuilding stocks gain on strong China trade

Shares of Yangzijiang Shipbuilding (Holdings) Ltd
rose as much as 6.5 percent on hopes that improving Chinese
trade data would translate into more orders in the longer term.
China said on Thursday its exports grew 14.1 percent in
December from a year ago to hit a seven-month peak, handsomely
beating market expectations of a 4 percent rise. [ID:nL4N0AF07N]
" Shipping related stocks are in play because of the good
Chinese trade data. With better trade, shipping could improve,
which could in turn benefit the shipbuilders," said a local
trader.
Yangzijiang shares climbed 5.1 percent to S$1.135, while
rival COSCO Corp (Singapore) Ltd  was up 5.1 percent at
S$1.035. Both were the third and fourth most actively traded
stocks by value.
Container shipping firm Neptune Orient Lines Ltd
gained 0.4 percent, extending Thursday's 7 percent gains.
Hutchison Port Holdings Trust  , which operates ports in
China, rose 3 percent to S$0.845.
