too many to put until i cannot pinpoint one.. basically investors should look at the balance sheet and see if the loans/borrowings under the current liabilities should not be way too much vs the cash sitting around.. but this will not be a sole parameter cos singtel will also fall into this category lol.. of cos we know singtel wont bankrupt cos banks will still going to fund their cash flow and no way ah gong is going to make it fall.. next is to identify the sectors that are deemed weak by the public, such as construction & oil/gas related counters.. when these sectors are deemed weak, it is hard for banks to continue to provide loans to these companies..
in short, find a company that is cash rich and if possible, no debt at all.. even though our mickey mouse exchange has lots of bad listings in recent years that suck retailers money, there are still quite a few zero debt companies around that provide a sustainable stable dividends, but of cos investors are not that intelligent or done enough due diligence.. most still prefer to gamble away their money to invest counters with " potential" , or are slow to cut when the company is having a long term downtrend in revenue/profits |
