Even though AMAL is getting closer, about approximately six months,  to  Lithium production, this ' baby'   is still not mentioned by this so called " Leading Lithium market expert" !Why?

I know Q4 just started so why am I writing about 2018 already? The bottom line is I think 2018 will dwarf prior years in terms of meaningful events happening in the lithium cosmos. Many significant open issues &ndash among them:
·               How serious are ALB&rsquo s often masked issues in the Atacama? Spoiler alert: weather isn&rsquo t the problem. The LaNegra II production volume in 2018 is critical for Cool Hand Luke.
·               CORFO & SQM &ndash resolution of open issues hopefully clearing the way for SQM to expand the Atacama beyond their current plan with a reasonable royalty.
·               How fast can financed juniors (PLS/AJM) get into production?
·               Development of new projects in Argentina beyond Cauchari.
·               EV sales growth trend.
·               Does FMC do a spin-off and get their lithium assets into more competent hands?
First a flashback to my January 17th post which mentioned what I thought were key themes for the lithium industry in 2017:
1) the need for consolidation and alliances
2) the rise of Argentina as the next great lithium province joining Chile and Australia.
So, what happened?
We saw three important projects (one in Argentina and two in Australia) funded and progressing. Probably more importantly we saw SQM make it clear the lithium &ldquo by-product&rdquo mentality is gone and they are &ldquo all in&rdquo on being the world&rsquo s foremost lithium company by expanding in the Atacama, moving forward at Cauchari and investing in hard rock in Australia via a deal with KDR.
On the other side of the world we saw Ganfeng benefit from their ownership in Mt Marion and make additional investments in Argentina (Cauchari) and Australia (Pilbara). Ganfeng is no longer dependent on others for raw material and has a real shot at becoming #1 or #2 in total LCE production.
DSO proved how wrong poorly informed analysts can be. The predicted price crash never happened and prices moved up to prior highs.
SQM and Ganfeng are clearly in position to eclipse the uneasy &ldquo allies&rdquo , ALB and Tianqi. in both production and global influence in the coming half decade. No I don&rsquo t think Luke and company or Tianqi are going to rollover but I do believe SQM, Ganfeng and their affiliated companies have better operations and projection execution abilities that will be key to bringing the Lithium Age into full bloom.
Ok &ndash so maybe my themes for 2017 were kind of obvious rather than great insight. Let&rsquo s a take a look at 2018.
What happens at Galaxy in 2018 is significant. The Perth based company is in the process of moving ahead of FMC in LCE production from Mt Cattlin production alone but in my opinion their real future lies in developing the Sal de Vida brine projection. Beyond that they also have another hard rock resource at James Bay in Quebec. Do they partner or go it alone? One next year&rsquo s more interesting questions.
FMC is currently the clear leader in the second tier of lithium companies. Although they have slipped to number 6 in LCE production, Hombre Muerto is a significant asset producing high quality carbonate and chloride. Unfortunately, the current management only puts out &ldquo teasers&rdquo about expanding the resource in Argentina rather than actually moving forward. Their ill-conceived hydroxide strategy (aka &ldquo The House of Card&rdquo ) to expand to 30K MT without access to feedstock for the majority of the new capacity is increasingly viewed by the battery world as a significant misstep by the former global hydroxide leader. Hopefully their &ldquo on again-off again&rdquo spin-off talk results in new leadership that moves this fading lithium business forward.
Nemaska still requires massive funding to move forward with a commercial size plant. I like the idea of new technology in hydroxide but their current struggle to bring just a 500 MT plant online with on spec crystallized product rather than just a hydroxide solution they can ship to neighbor Johnson Matthey is question that needs be answered hopefully in early 2018. New technology always takes time &ndash taking a wait and see attitude on Nemaska. Don' t look for production > 10K MT in this decade.
The North American Lithium saga drags on. A tainted Chinese SOC owner has been a barrier to several US based investors wanting to bring proper corporate governance to the mess north of the border. Despite China battery giant CATL curiously throwing a lifeline to entrenched management, any former optimism I had for NAL is gone. But then again, you never know.
It is beyond the scope of this post to mention every junior so please don&rsquo t send me a private message asking why I didn&rsquo t mention Bolivia, Portugal, etc, etc. I will be clear on one point &ndash the Congo is not going to become the new Saudi Arabia of Lithium
In 2017, we saw people finally believe that rapid lithium demand growth is real and the future debate will be on things like speed of EV penetration (spoiler alert &ndash I am still on the low end at < 5% but even with that lithium demand in 2025 is 3X demand in 2016.
I can&rsquo t write about 2018 without giving Elon his due. Clearly Tesla&rsquo s aspirational production goal of 500K cars in 2018 isn&rsquo t going to happen when they are currently making the model 3 literally by hand. Likely Tesla will be forgiven for the continued misses and remain an important story but the recent announcements by German automakers regarding massive investments in electric models and batteries will be more significant to the lithium world going forward. Who knows if VW will really invest $84 billion as they recently stated but it is clear electrification is going mainstream. Based on my recent expert calls, it seems automakers finally realize they may have to finally make investments in lithium resources. Unfortunately, it takes huge bureaucracies a long time to make decisions but it seems the review process has started in earnest.
Next year is going to be an extremely interesting one in the lithium world with ramp-ups to follow including the ongoing sagas of LaNegra II and ORE as well as the projects in Oz and the matching capacity in China. Hopefully SQM will put their CORFO issues behind them and be able to focus on the projects they have in three countries.
My expectation is Galaxy will have either financed or done a partnership deal to move Sal de Vida forward. I am more doubtful about the goings on in Quebec. On the demand side, although I am increasingly bullish on the electric transportation story my numbers still tend to be conservative.
Many pundits said 2016 was the year of lithium and 2017 would be the year of cobalt. I tend to ignore such musings given my total focus is lithium related matters. That said the best days for lithium are in the future no matter what other &ldquo flavors of the day&rdquo emerge.

AMAL will be like another Midas.
And AMAL sell 50% BH interest to Tawana for 7.5 mil only ? Something "fishy". So AMAL valued BH project at only $15 mil only ?

China is the 龙 🐲 头 老 大 ,leader, when it come to Lithium battery mfg.You can see that the Chinese company are buying,JVs, investment all over the world...from Australia to SA to Africa. Not just Lithium...Lithium... Cobalt,Nickel,Copper, Graphite...China is going to control the world market (pricing?)in terms of Lithium Battery.
USA and Europe are not in the same league when it comes Lithium Battery mfg./technology.
So what is in it for AMAL? Future is bright.IMO

Burwill' s announcement explains -- in a compelling way -- why it is taking a 13% stake in Alliance Mineral:
REASONS FOR AND BENEFITS OF THE SUBSCRIPTION
Lithium upstream resources are very scarce worldwide. As elementary materials for new energy electric vehicles and other industries, there is huge market demand for lithium resources. The Board believes that there is long-term good development prospect for the lithium concentrates project at Bald Hill in Western Australia, which will have lithium concentrates delivery in the first quarter of 2018.
Through the Subscription, the Company not only can secure its interests under the Offtake Agreement, but also enjoy the increase in value of AMAL shares , which is in line with the Company' s business strategy development direction.

The big contract will be the construction of airport in Myanmar   🇲 🇲 .
There are saying to complete the formal signing of agreement by end of 2017.
Will there be any delays...
Key risk is the Rakhine crisis ... International condemnation of the Myanmar 🇲 🇲 gov.
will it affect the FDI?

Page 113 is more interesting.
As of 20 Sep 17,
Credit Suisse (Europe) holds 25,745,417 shares
Tribeca Global Natural Resources Fund & Tribeca Global Total Return Fund holds 25,340,000 shares
I have been saying Credit Suisse is slowly accumulating the shares when one of my trades at 25.5c is Credit Suisse.
For a Investment Bank to be interested in AM and Tribeca fund to hold significant stakes in AM, I do believe there must be some substance in the company to least warrant their attention and participation.
Nonetheless, this is the extract from page 57.
As announced on 17 June 2017, Living Waters transferred 46,074,788 of the Company&rsquo s shares as agreed under a personal settlement agreement between Living Water, its shareholders and Grande Pacific Limited (&ldquo Grande Pacific&rdquo ) (&ldquo the Settlement Agreement&rdquo ) reducing its holding to 118,374,974 shares.
As further clarified in the announcement dated 2 August 2017, a further 46,074,788 shares held by Living Water are frozen (&ldquo Frozen Shares&rdquo ) under an order of the court as security for a potential payment for which Living Waters is liable to Grande Pacific, in connection with the following arrangement:
i. If by 24 October 2017 (the &ldquo Expiration Date&rdquo ), the value of the shares transferred to Jonathan Lim under the Settlement Agreement does not reach a price of $0.50 per share (the &ldquo Strike Price&rdquo ), then Living Waters Mining shall be liable to pay Grande Pacific Limited a sum equivalent to the difference between the Strike Price and the volume weighted average price (&ldquo VWAP&rdquo ) of the shares in the Company based on a &ldquo 7 calendar day lookback period from the Expiration Date&rdquo , for the number of shares in the Company held by Grande Pacific as at the Expiration Date. Following such payment, the Frozen Shares would be released to the Relevant Parties.
ii. If by the Expiration Date the value of the shares transferred to Jonathan Lim reaches a value equal to the Strike Price, as determined by the VWAP with a &ldquo 7 calendar day lookback period&rdquo from the Expiration Date, then the above payment obligations will not apply and the Frozen Shares would be released to the Relevant Parties
A separate sum of S$7,000,000 was also agreed to be paid to Grande Pacific under the Settlement Agreement, but this sum was unavailable to be transferred to Grande Pacific on the date as agreed in the Settlement Agreement. As a result, Grande Pacific Limited proceeded to apply for a writ of seizure and sale (&ldquo WSS&rdquo ) to recover this sum though Living Waters Mining ownership of shares in the Company. On 30 June 2017, the WSS was filed and served by the Sheriff&rsquo s Office, Supreme Court of Singapore to seize 72,300,186 shares (excluding the above 46,074,788 frozen shares) in the Company belonging to Living Waters. The WSS is however limited to a sum of S$7,000,000 plus interest, and post judgment costs and disbursements. The actual number of shares to be sold would be determined based on the prevailing market price of the Company&rsquo s shares at the time of the sale. Any remaining shares will be transferred back to Living Waters.
The above is a matter between a major shareholder and a third party and does not affect the financial position or the performance of the Company.
I do agree that it will not affect the financial position (BS, Income statement and Cashflow) or performance (operational) of the company. But I seriously doubt it would not affect the share price behaviour (rather than performance) during this period of timeframe. Come on, CEO is the affected party and he do control the amount of news and announcement that could be made from the company right? It' s his vested interest to ensure the VWAP of SP at 24 Oct 17, is near or better more than 50c. If we just use a simple maths of 50c minus 30c, this difference would be S$9,214,957.60. Even though if CEO is a rich man, he wouldnt probably want to pay this sum of money right?
Yes yes... there is another camp of pro Jonathan that he will surely whack the SP down as much as he can by 24 Oct 17 so he can derive the maximum benefit of the compensation. I was once held to this idea until Burwill entering the picture as the possible candidate to help CEO to deny Jonathan' s plot. Before Burwill, I' m thinking who can save CEO enormous debt given the tanking of SP down to recent low of 21c (wow.. at 21c the compensation would have been S$13,361,688.50).
I speculate that part of the by-the-side deal for Burwill to be able to enter at such terms might be a hidden agenda to help to support the SP to meet the definition of WVAP of 50c. Since its 7 days, guys please take note on the volume and price on 16 Oct onwards.
In summary, Canaccord still hold 11.4m options (EP at 24c, 30c, 36c) not yet exercised. They need to make payments to secure the shares before they can sell in the market to earn the profits for the services they rendered in their coverage. I think these guys are still confident with AM.
Credit Suisse and Tribeca are also sub holders as of 20 Sep 17. Doubt they have run out already. They are confident with AM.
Jonathan still hold the same amount of shares as of 20 Sep 17. He haven sold a single share yet. I think he' s also confident with AM.
Burwill now have both offtake agreement and equity stakeholding with AM. I think they are super confident with AM.
If I have to be wrong on this company, I think I had done my thorough research and along with these BBs (Credit Suisse, Tribeca. Burwill and Jonathan) that I have no regret vesting in this company big time.
Ha... just my 2 cents worth.
