Fed holds interest rates steady, still sees two cuts coming this year

The rate-setting Federal Open Market Committee kept its key borrowing rate targeted in a range between 4.25%-4.5%, where it has been since December.
The FOMC downgraded its collective outlook for economic growth and gave a bump higher to its inflation projection.
Officials now see the economy accelerating at just a 1.7% pace this year, down 0.4 percentage point from the last projection in December.
In addition to the rate decision, the Fed announced a further scaling back of its &ldquo quantitative tightening&rdquo program in which it is slowly reducing the bonds it holds on its balance sheet

IMO, seems like US and China is upping the pace in AI cometitions, seems like they are aiming to get the private sector to aligned their AI effort under the direction of the respective government. In plain English, more empahisis, effort and resources will be channel to AI.

U.S. President Donald Trump& rsquo s 25% tariffs on steel and aluminum imports came into effect Wednesday.
The European Union said on Wednesday it would impose counter-tariffs on 26 billion euros ($28.33 billion) worth of U.S. goods starting in April in response to the duties.
Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said that Trump& rsquo s move to impose the tariffs was & ldquo entirely unjustified.& rdquo
