OCBC more aggressive in growth than DBS..

If such thing happens now, not only STI 2000, a lot of politicians will be in crisis management liao, guaranteed.

How many times has DBS touched < 15 in the last 5 yrs?    Nowe we are talking abt 9SGD.  Maybe now we are beginning to understand why the mkt here  so many  stocks  are trading at such low px - cos maybe  so many people have perception that stocks here are too ex at current px, even some that are trading at < 3x PE overvalued?  How do we  compare  to stocks in US  for example?

Loan growth moderating, property loans wk.  Deposits rising.  What are they  gonna do with their excess funds n extra cost of funds which surely will rise with rising interest (need to pay higher for deposits? Otherwise, wld people bother to save much with them?).  So, I' m not sure what they are getting at.

CIMB says that even with its bearish assumptions on DBS Group Holdings (D05.SG) and Oversea-Chinese Banking Corp. (O39.SG) for the fiscal 2016 year, which are below consensus, " we think that returns on equity still justify [ the] cost of equity, which makes them good value.

" CIMB has" add " ratings on DBS and OCBC and a" hold " rating on United Overseas Bank.
