Oil prices have climbed nearly uninterrupted since late April, but the gains could be coming to an end.    On Friday, oil prices fell sharply, hitting the pause button on a rally that saw WTI rebound from -$37 per barrel on April 20, to nearly $34 per barrel on May 21, a more than $70-per-barrel swing in just a few weeks. Of course, the plunge deep into negative territory was likely a unique, one-off phenomenon. Nevertheless, the rally back into (positive) $30 territory has been impressive.
Of note, China&rsquo s oil demand has climbed back to about 13 million barrels per day (mb/d), a swift rebound that undergirded improving market sentiment. With China&rsquo s demand back to about 90 percent of pre-pandemic levels, oil traders are clearly holding out hopes of a quick rebound elsewhere.
Meanwhile, the rapid shut in of production in North America combined with the OPEC+ production cuts has meant that the supply side of the equation is doing its part. More than 2.2 mb/d of U.S. oil production has been shut in, according to  comments  from the U.S. Secretary of Energy, a faster curtailment than expected. There has been a raft of investment bank forecasts that have predicted a supply deficit in the second half of 2020.
But the optimism surrounding the oil market, such as it is,  may be going too far. On Friday, the Chinese government  said  that it would not offer up a GDP growth target for 2020, highlighting the serious challenges facing the world&rsquo s second largest economy. Beijing pointed to &ldquo great uncertainty&rdquo because of the coronavirus. The government also declined to undertake massive government stimulus in the same way that it did in the wake of the global financial crisis a decade ago.

in stock market, anything can happens.
Need to do your own due dilligence.
If I am given a choice, i will rather risk my investment in Rex than Alliance Mineral.
papayaface ( Date: 24-May-2020 09:56) Posted:
True also but you won' t know. Alita' s debts ballooned after it took out a loan to mine its huge lithium reserves. Must therefore watch out for Rex even tho it has a cash hoard and any loan taken by its management would be a red light indicator, if that' s the case. Just a due diligence so that i won' t lose six digits again. Good luck

CATALIST-LISTED lithium miner Alita Resources, formerly known as Alliance Mineral Assets, on Thursday night said the Singapore Exchange had on Feb 18 noted that it "has no objections to the proposed delisting" of the company.
Among other things, Alita need not convene a general meeting to obtain shareholder approval for the delisting, nor provide an exit offer to shareholders. This is because an application has been made in the Australian court to transfer 100 per cent of the shares in Alita to a related entity of China Hydrogen Energy (CHE) for nil consideration.
Last month, BT reported that Alita was pursuing a restructuring in Australia, after accepting a binding A$70 million (S$64.9 million) loan facility from CHE. CHE has put forward a deed of company arrangement to acquire Alita's assets, though little is known about CHE, except that it is a special-purpose vehicle for a Chinese party.
Shareholders of Alita will see their investments go to zero, and about 100 of them are said to be fighting the takeover of their shares by the Chinese entity. One big question is whether Alita's board of directors may have breached continuous-disclosure requirements in the months before the firm ran out of cash.
In a regulatory filing on Thursday, Alita added that it will provide updates on the date and timing of the delisting in due course.
According to the Singapore bourse?s requirements, the deed administrators are also making arrangements for an information session with shareholders and will provide further details in due course through an announcement, the company said.
Alita shares have been suspended from trading since last August, after a collapse in prices for the battery commodity forced the firm to default on a A$40 million loan from its secured lenders.

To add on, Alliance minerals was suspended because it is continuously loss making company with mounting debts and low cash reserves. i will never invest in such a company.

| I hate to say this guys but didnt anyone ask the directors abt the status of the DOC at the recent AGM? After all they have enriched themselves with the 1st batch of performance bonus shares and now telling everyone about the next PSP? Honestly what' s the point of WTI price skyrocketing when this dinasaur cant even export a single barrel of their oil. Just a few months ago, many of us have been misled by the management of Alita Resources (Alliance Minerals) with promising developments and all of a sudden overnight were told that the Australian court had approved the transfer of the valuable mining assets of the company to a creditor chinese party & then the share got delisted & our investment became zero value. I hope Rex is not going to turn up the same way. Good luck     |

simple answer to your doubts.
Sell or short if one has no confident in the performance and managementt of Rex.
Buy or long if one has confident in the performance and management of Rex.
Period.

Dont tell me it wasnt approved because the oil flow not sustainable or consistent ? Wonder if anyone asked that question to directors at recent AGM. Just my wild guess only. Good luck     |
